SUMMARY: Meliodas had been planning this for quite a while. Finally telling Elizabeth act what he's been hiding within his hearts.

TIME LINE: shortly before a meliodas betrays the demon clan. Aka. 3000 years ago.

It was just any other day at heavens theatre.
The demon, Meliodas, and the Goddess, Elizabeth spend's every moment together at that place.
They had for many many years, and over the years Meliodas had stopped fighting against the emotions within him. When he was with her he let it out as well as he could.
For this reason he knew what she meant to him.
He knew what he wanted them to become, and telling her was something he'd been preparing for.
So he took a deep breath, and began.

"I must confess" Meliodas started, getting Elizabeth's attention "I... I have grown quite fond of spending my time with you" His tone started out casual, but then when he saw Elizabeth growing smile a rare emotion crept in.
"When I am alone...I find myself...missing you."
Then he eyed her, and his lips curled into a soft smile.
"That smile. I realized how much I want to protect it. I look at you, or I hear your voice, and I feel... at peace."

Elizabeth stood there before him, listening to his sweet words.
She smiled, feeling appreciated by him was a gift. But she had no idea what he actually meant.
"I wish I was able to protect you d as well... and to help you discover yourself, but I have yet to learn how"

"You don't give yourself enough credit" Meliodas sighed.
"Look at me... look at my eyes.. look at me smiling...I only learned to do so since I met you... you don't have to actively try.. you just need to be by my side" he said softly and took a step closer to her.
Elizabeth thought nothing of that, but she was touched by his words, even more so than before, and knowing that she had actually helped him more than she thought she had gave her peace at mind.
"Elizabeth..." he said her name again, and she gave him a small nod, showing that she was still listening to every word that he spoke.
"Will you promise me to always stay by my side?"

Elizabeth's eyes widened for the fraction of a second, but then she smiled softly.
Staying by his side was exactly what she had always wanted, even if he would never feel the same towards her as she felt towards him.
She would just hide it away within her heart.
"I promise... you can't get rid of me"

"I'll hold you to that promise" he said, and he took one more step, before Elizabeth got the chance to register what was happening he was holding onto her forearms and then leaned up and planted a kiss on her lips.

Elizabeth's eyes widened.
The rational post of her brain told her that she was dreaming. Meliodas would never kiss her. He didn't see her like that. She was only his friend.
But in the contrary, her heart fluttered, going that this kiss meant that her feelings wasn't one-sided.
With this hope in mind she closed her eyes and kissed him back. This act was what gave Meliodas the peace of mind, he had feared that he had gone too far, or had moved too fast, but apparently tar was just irrational fear talking.

They separate and Elizabeth immediately opened her eyes, looking into his shining green ones.
War she found there was the emotion she'd seen in him for so long, but hasn't been and to read until now.
He had, just as her, hidden his feelings away.
She didn't think, she just went down and captured his lips again.
Now it was his time to be shocked. He had already guessed that she probably and hopefully felt the same towards him as he did to her, but she was a shy one. He had never expected her to be as bold as to kiss him like this.
This kiss didn't last as long as the other however, and Elizabeth's face was beet red when she pulled away.

"I-" she started, But was very quickly interrupted.

"I love you" Meliodas told her point blank. Despite knowing that was what he was feeling it felt weird and unnatural to say it out loud.

Elizabeth wish she could say it as confidently and cool as he just had, but her voice was now shaking as a couple of tears began to fall.
She tried to hurriedly wipe then away, but they just kept coming.
In a way of soothing her Meliodas grabbed hold of her hands and squeezed then kindly.
"Meliodas.." she started, her voice shaking.
Crying, out of pure happiness.
"I love you too...I have... for so long..." she said.
All the over up emotions can't pouring out, and Meliodas was intent on hearing it all.
"I thought...I thought I'd gage to keep these emotions hidden forever... that-.. that you'd never see me as other than a friend"

"I thought so too... in the beginning...but life has a special way of taking turns we'd never expect..."

Elizabeth nodded as the last of her tears fell.

They not sat next to each other in one of the stone steps of heavens theatre.
Meliodas was still holding onto one of her hands, drawing patterns on it with his thumb.

"How did you even... realize?" Elizabeth asked nervously. She wasn't sure what sheet she was gonna get.

Meliodas Sabine's his signature snap smile as he thought of the day he had realized.
"You spoke about home... about how it should feel...of course it was another one if your rants about humans, but for sole reason I listened intensely this time-"

"Wait, you don't always?"

Meliodas decided to ignore that question.
"I didn't know then but it touched me in ways I duchy feel it should... and then I went... home...or rather, I serve bag to the demon realm... back the my castle... but it felt cold. It felt like something was off... the a couple of days later I met up with you again, and when I saw you...I felt like I was home..."

Elizabeth didn't know what to say to his confession. To her it had been such a solid conversation, but to him it had been an eyeopener.
She was happy.

"So... where did you realize?" He SHES in a teasing manner.

She pondered over that question for a XD little while.
Her love for him came very gradually.
"It happened very slowly... it was ask the smash things I fell in love with first... but I suppose, the first time I realized I was in love with you was...." she paused and blushed.
Meliodas was intrigued.
"It was when... one if my fretted tried to kiss me..." she confessed.

Meliodas got defensive.
"Who did what to you when?! Was it Mael?!"

"Eh? No no, it wasn't.. it was a guy named Alexander. And I didn't let him... that's because...I couldn't help but think that I wanted you to be my first kiss.." she said and looked down as she played with her own fingers.
"My own thoughts embarrassed me and I went to my room to think... and well.... that's that..I laid in my bed and realized that I was in love with you..."

"The one person we suave have cashed in love with is the exact ones we did end up falling in love with..." Meliodas thought aloud.
He was the demon prince, and she was the princess of the goddess. They could never be together.
Not that that was gonna so them from trying.
