SWITCHED RACES
MELIZABETH

If Meliodas was a goddess, and Elizabeth was a demon, how would they have met?

THIRD PERSON POV-

Requested by Liza01104

"Meliodas!" A mighty female voice sounded through the corridors of the goddesses palace, which made Meliodas, the prince of the goddesses stop in his tracks before he let out a deep sigh and slowly turned to face the woman who'd called out to him.

"Yes mother?" Meliodas asked his mother, the supreme deity. He was foolish to ask, cause he knew full well ehh she had called out to him in such a manner. Precisely because he had just tried to sneak out of the palace. And the supreme deity knew exactly where to.

"You were on your way to Britannia again, weren't you!?" She faked, her anger and dismay evident in her voice that sent chills down Meliodas's spine.
"That place is a constant battleground! How many times do I have to tell you that you are not to go there!?"

Meliodas frowned but didn't say anything.
He was one of the best warriors, that was evident by his matches with the archangels, but despite that he was rarely ever allowed to go into actual battle, abc he hated it.

"I apologize mother...it's just..I hate to stand by while pests such as the demon clan roam this world! Don't you see!? I just want to help eliminate our enemies!" After his little outburst he clapped his hands over his mouth. Now he'd really dove it, he had just YELLED at his MOTHER!

"That's quite enough out of you! You are not king yet Meliodas, and till you are I call the shots around here! You understand me!?"

Meliodas lowered his head. "Yes mother, I apologize"

The supreme deity then let out a "hmp" sound before abruptly turning around and walking away from her son.
A mistake on her part, because Meliodas was in a rebellious phase, so once her back was turned his saddened expression turned mischievous. He knew a few hidden passages he cooks use to get away without the castle's servants telling on him.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Meliodas sighed contently as he flew through the skies of Britannia. Despite the heavens, his home, being so pure, it was almost as if the air was clearer in Britannia, as if he could breathe easier here.
'I'll be able to breathe even easier once those pesky demons are all dead' he reminded himself, it was how he was raised. Hate demons. Exterminate their kind. But there was this knot in his chest every time he thought about killing a demon, but he couldn't really make out what it was. Pity perhaps? But why pity them? After all he was taught that killing the demons was a way of mercy, so gay their soul could go on and perhaps be reincarnated as a purer being.
Caught up in his thought meliodas slowky descended till his feet bet the rocky ground of a mountain.
As he c looked around he saw slash marks, and scorch marks on the boulders.
'Was there a fight here?' He wondered a d he let his hand glide over a scorch mark.
Hell blaze, a fire technique that every demon possess.

"H-Hello?" A voice - a female voice - echoed out of a cave that meliodas was standing rather close to.
A survivor of the fight that was raged here, perhaps?
It could be an ally, but it found just as well be a foe.

Slowly Meliodas walked into the cave, keeping his guard up, and keeping a hand on the hold of the sword he'd brought with him.

It was then that he noticed her.

A demon girl.

Upon reflex Meliodas unsheathes his sword and bend Into a fight stance, the demon girl then lifted her hand and lit a hell blade in her palm to light up he dark cave.
Now that he took a closer look he saw that the demon girl before him was severely injured, and had apparently already lost a great deal of blood before she could cover up her wound using her darkness.
This couldn't be an ambush. No. It had been a cry for help.

"You're...a goddess.." the girl said weakly.

"And you're a demon"

"...I guess that-that means that...you w-won't help me then..." it wasn't a question.
"Especially...seeing as you're n-none other than the prince of the...goddesses" the girl mumbled but Meliodas heard her loud and clear.

"You recognize me?"

"Of course I do... everyone in the demon clan knows e-exactly who you are, Meliodas..."

It was then that Meliodas pointed the tip of the sword directly at her, would he step one step forwards it'd pierce her and It'd be all over for her, and despite that fact she didn't seem scared, nor did she make a move to defend herself, rather...she just looked sad.
"I guess it ...was just a silly dream after all..." she mumbled. Meliodas raised an eyebrow, and then she continued. "That demons...a-and goddess, could one day get along"

"Silly dream indeed, such a thing could never be"

"....and why is that?"

"Demons are far beneath ya goddess, why would we ever associate with your kind?!"

"Wrong question..."

"Excuse me?"

The girl then looked directly into Meliodas's eyes, and he was surprised to see her eyes...blue.
"The question is: why not?" She said firmly.

"I-..I told you! You are beneath us!"

"Yeah, but in what way? What makes ya the lower life form?"

'Why haven't i killed her yet? She's right here, weakened, and she's even insulting me by asking such...such vulgar questions!' Meliodas thought as he tightened the hand on his blade.

"Can't f-find an ...answer can ..you?" The girl asked him and smiled weakly.

Never...never in his life had Meliodas met a demon quite like this one.
"Who...are you?"

"...the name's...Elizabeth...I think you goddesses k-know me as-...as bloodstained Ellie. Gotta be honest I d-don't really like that ...nickname" she chuckled.

'She's....the daughter of the demon king... why would the princess of all people gave a mindset like this one?!'

"I...I'm surprised..."

"Let me guess, you thought.... I was gonna he this big muscly monster of a woman, a-am I right?" she laughed, although still weakly.
It was true, he had expected something entirely different, but here she was...and he had to admit...she was beautiful...
A slender body.
Plumb lips.
The blue color of her eyes...
And the long silver hair with bangs hanging loosely over her forehead.
Nope, not like he expected at all...
Something inside of him also hurt..at seeing her, this beautiful woman, covered in blood and potentially dying..

"I'm not a monster M-Meliodas, not outside, and not inside either... in truth, we demons aren't that ...different from e-everyone else...we fight for one reason only..."

"And what is that reason?"

"...to survive..."

A shuddering clang soubded through the cave. It was the sound of Meliodas's sword hitting the ground.

"Exterminate then!" "They don't deserve to live" "It's to be merciful to kill them" All those words...the things he'd been taught growing up...
The goddesses were the ones trying to exterminate an entire race...so..who was really the bad guys?

Meliodas fell to his knees in front of Elizabeth, and he could see on her face that she was shocked, but he quickly focused his eyes on her injuries instead of her face.
Had it not been for her darkness she would've certainly bled out by now.

Meliodas slowky raises just hand, and a glow began emptying from it.
"Be well" he said and then Elizabeth herself started to glow, and when the glow subsided...all her injuries were gone.
To make sure of that Elizabeth started checking herself over in shock, and when she had seen that he had truly saved her she looked up at him with big blue eyes.

Meliodas smiled kindly.
"M-maybe your silly dream isn't so silly after all..."
