Summary: remember the phase ban had with stealing plushies, well he just so happened to steal a certain princess's beloved plushie, and his captain is not at all pleased.

Time line: before the sins were exiled, when Elizabeth was just a mud (let's say 5 years old )

THIRD PERSON POV-

Meliodas was tired and angry.
Elizabeth's plushie has somehow gotten lost and she couldn't fall asleep without it.
Well...she had fallen asleep but only because Meliodas had promised to stay by her side until she fell asleep and he'd promised to help her find her plushie the next day.

And since he was in that particular mood he really wasn't in the mood for what awaited him when he went to go home, to the home he shared with the rest of the sins.

The moment Meliodas walked through the door he was met by the sound of King sobbing his heart out.

"I swear to the goddesses if this is about his pudding I will kill him.." Meliodas mumbled as he staggered into the room he heard King's sobbing from.

"What the-" Meliodas mumbled as he opened the door and saw the scene.

"How can you be so cruel! Each of these plushies are their owners emotional piggy bank! Stuffed full of memories and love!!" King sobbed while holding a single plushie in his arms.
He was talking to van who was...sitting in a pile of plushies with a bottle of ale in his hand, obviously drunk.

"The only thing stuffed inside is cotton" Ban said as he opened one of the stuffed animals up to show the cotton stuffed inside.

"NO-" King yelled as he snatched the plushie from Bans grip. It was then that Meliodas decided to step in to comfort King.

"There there king..." Meliodas said as he patted King on the back.
"Now..mind telling me what's going on?"

"That monster, he- he..." King started as he pointed an accusing finger as ban, he quickly trailed off due to his sobbing tho.
Meliodas then looked over in Ban's direction hoping that he, despite being drunk, would tell him what was going on.

"Oh c'mon it's not like it's a big deal!~" ban slurred but continued "kids gotta grow up at one point after all, let this be a lesson~ they'll get over it"
Of course that only helped to increase the volume of King's sobbing, but Meliodas's eyes were slowly narrowing at the nan he'd come to call his best friend.

"Ban?~" Meliodas sung with fake happiness in his voice, which Ban didn't take notice of, probably because he was drunk.
Ban however was sober enough to take the threat seriously when lostvayne, Meliodas's sacred, and very sharp sword was pressed against his neck.
"Oh-uhh" Ban said as he began to sweat, the usual sing-song tone of voice he normally used had also disappeared as Ban was now serious.

"I want you to be completely honest with me. Did you perhaps steal the princess's plushie too?"

"Uhhh. Yeah" Ban said honestly but nervously, he hadn't thought of how close meliodas was with the third princess, Elizabeth when he sold her precious plushie.

"I'm tired Ban! I'm worn out! I want to sleep! But now you'll give it to me so I can return it to Elizabeth so SHE can sleep!" Meliodas said angrily as he pressed the tip of the sword into Babs neck deep enough to draw a single drop of blood.

"O-okay" Ban said, and without ever taking his eyes off his captain he started digging through the mountain of plushies and within a few moves he was holding out the brown teddy bear that belonged to Elizabeth.

Meliodas took it but didn't move his sword just yet.
"Just know that the only reason I hasn't cut your throat is because the blood would stain the plushies" Meliodas let Ban know, and with that he quickly relieved his said and within just a couple of seconds he was out the door.

Meliodas one Elizabeth was probably still asleep so he snuck into her room quietly, off course he'd first told the guards so he would be mistaken for a creep or a bandit.

He kneeled by her bedside and then gently tugged the teddy bear into her hold.
And with that he got up to leave.

"You found it"

Meliodas winched when he heard her feeling bad the he had stolen her up. But he couldn't help but smile, because she sounded so cute. So happy and yet so tired.
So meliodas went back to kneeling by her bed side.
He then gently stripped her head.
"Of course I did" he whispered.

"Thank you"

"No problem angel" he called her by the nickname angel. Most times he would call her Ellie, but on special occasions he did call her angel.
"Now you can sleep really good" meliodas said and adjusted her blanked a bit, ticking her more in.
"I'll se you tomorrow" he says and kissed her forehead before finally leaving the room.
