Summary: Tristan normally only lets his mommy sing him goodnight, but this night Meliodas has something special to his sleeve.

Time Line: Tristan is 7

THIRD PERSON POV-

Meliodas was sitting on the edge of Tristan's bed. It was his time to put him to bed and sing his goodnight song, but this time Meliodas decided to stray from the usual "lavenders blue" that Elizabeth normally sung to him.
This time Meliodas would sing a special song. It was the song his mother used to sing to him before she died.

"I sit down on the edge of your bed,
and you laugh with me.
The world shrinks into nothing,
when I see you" Meliodas sung and Tristan's eyes shot open, confused as to why the song was different.
"You lie so very still,
seeming so indescribably little
between your many funny animals" Meliodas continued and picked up the plush Tristan had of a red dragon and rugged it in next to him. Tristan couldn't help but chuckle.

"But in our dream game
the two of us will find our way
to new adventures"
Tristan smiled fondly. He liked adventures. More so when he could go on adventures with his dad.

"Under the stars in the sky
you're sailing with me.
Close your eyes slowly,
then we'll be on our way.
We're sailing on the water,
and into our land of dreams,
you and me.

And if you're scared by the wind,
I'll gently kiss your cheek" Meliodas sung and went down to in fact kiss Tristan's flushed cheek before continuing.
"No matter where you are in your imagination,
I'll always be here with you, my dear.
Please put your hand in mine with confidence.

Close your eyes slowly,
then we'll be on our way.
We're sailing on the water,
and into our land of dreams,
you and me.
Our land of dreams, you and me" Meliodas finished and just looked down at his sons happy and flushed face.

"You're not a great singer dad" Tristan said with a smile that quickly turned mischievous, and Meliodas was about to come back with a smart remark but then Tristan continued. "But that was really nice..."

"Well thank you" meliodas laughed. "But if you want I can probably get your mom to sing it to you next time if you want. She's a better singer, and she even knows the lyrics. I used to sing it to her way back in the day when she couldn't sleep due to the stress of the war"

"N-No! Didn't you hear me? I said it was really nice"

Tristan was more sound asleep and so meliodas was walking into the room where his lovely wife was waiting, seemingly very interested in her new book, and yet the moment she looked up and saw him she smiled, put a bookmark in the book, and put in to the side.

"He's sleeping?"

"Like a rock" Meliodas saud happuly and flopped down on the couch next to his wife.

"Oh? To be honest I thought you'd for sure have to come get me. He normally needs his lullaby to sleep"

"Oh yeah yeah he did today too, but I sing for him" Meliodas said proudly and displayed a big grin on his face.

"Really?" Elizabeth laughed a bit teasingly. "Which one did you sing?"

"Oh it's not one if his usual ones. I'm sure you'll remember it if you just hear a little...We're sailing on the water, and into our land of dreams,
you and me" Meliodas sung part of the lullaby, and Elizabeth's smile softened to such a degree he thought he was gonna melt.

"yeah...I remember when you used to sing it to me too Back during the first holy war when I had trouble sleeping?" Elizabeth sayd and Lester her head onto his shoulder.
Meliodas remembered that Elizabeth had sometimes been so stressed that she had trouble sleeping, but it always helping if Meliodas would cuddle her and sing that lullaby.
"your singing have really improved since then"

"Excuse me are you telling me I sung really bad back then" Meliodas asked faking being offended. Elizabeth didn't buy it so she simply giggled.

"I don't believe I ever said that"

"But you meant it!" Meliodas laughed
"Ah whatever Tristan says I'm still a bad singer"
Elizabeth laughed at that but decided to to say more.
