Summary: Elizabeth is three months pregnant and It's around this time that meliodas becomes strangely overprotective of her.

THIRD PERSON POV

Elizabeth was three months pregnant and queen of liones. The support from her people had been absolutely overwhelming as she was showered with baby gifts, flowers in blue and pink, and cards filled with kind words. However nobody's support had been as evident as her family's, especially her husband, meliodas who rarely left her side any longer, worried both for her and their unborn baby, and she couldn't blame him, after all he was more used to her getting hurt than staying well.
But it was beginning to get slightly out of hand.

"Wait wait wait wait! Don't do that! Let me help you!" Meliodas sprinted to her side as she barely made it four steps up the staircase.
He took her by her hand and guided her other hand to the railing, slowly leading her upstairs.

"While I do appreciate the undying support... I'm pregnant, not crippled, I'll be fine" she stopped at the top of the stairs and put her hand upon his cheek. He looked tired, like he wasn't getting enough sleep, abs Elizabeth wouldn't be surprised if that was also caused by his worry for her.

Meliodas leaned into her touch, closing his eyes and enjoying it just for a while.
"I know.." he said quietly and then opened his eyes again. "Yes, of course I know..." he nodded his head, but brought a hand up on top of Elizabeth's so that it stayed in place on his cheek.
Nobody needed to tell him. He knew that he was slowly crossing into the territory of obsessive, but he couldn't help it.

The thought of leaving Elizabeth alone, even if she was just in the other room, it scared him.
Because he knew that as she progressed longer into the pregnancy she became weaker and weaker, and therefor open to attack and prone to accidents.
And the thought that she was also doing what no other goddess or human had before, that being carrying the child of a demon, was unnerving. They had nobody to ask what to do, and he constantly worried if it would make Elizabeth's pregnancy more difficult.

"You're overthinking again"

"What?" Meliodas looked up, for a moment forgetting what he had just spoken to Elizabeth about.
It was something meliodas had begun to do often, drifting off as he focused too much on thoughts, wether they be good or bad.

At this point Elizabeth brought her other hand up.
"You don't need to worry this much about me" Elizabeth said before letting go and abs continued to walk down the hallway to their room.
Meliodas stared at her back for a few moments before catching up with her.

"I don't...I know I don't, and I'm not trying to tell you that you're weak cause i know that you're not...it's just.." he stepped in front of her, stopping her.
"...what do I have but the two of you?" He said and nodded towards her small growing baby bump, making Elizabeth blush just a little.
"3000 years ago I promised you that we'd make a family together, and I failed to upkeep that promise when I let you die"

"Meliodas..." Elizabeth frowned.
Was he ever gonna realize that it wasn't his fault?

"No! I did fail you...but now I've got no more chances" he smiled softly in spite of the seriousness of the conversation. "So I'll make the best life for us. For our baby. For our family...so to get back to the point, even if you don't like it, I'm not backing off"

Elizabeth blinked at him, staring in awe, and then she laughed.
Meliodas arched an eyebrow and tilted his head, not understanding why she was laughing at him.
But then she brought him into a hug.
"I love you"

Meliodas melted into her embrace and let out a sigh, this was nice. This was good.
She would be safe.
He'd make sure of it.
"I love you too"
