Proposal

MELIZABETH

Summary: Melizabeth is just returning from a picnic date, but Meliodas has one more thing to squeeze in.

Third person POV-

"C'mon c'mon" Meliodas said exitedly as he dragged Elizabeth by the hand through a forest that they both remembered all too well. It had been the place they'd meet before Elizabeth thought of moving their secret meetings to the heavens theatre.

Elizabeth laughed at how exited he was to be back, or maybe it was just excitement due to the fact that their trial now was over. For real this time.
"I'm coming" Elizabeth answer through a fit of small giggles. "But Y'know, my father will be mad that we didn't go back to Liones at once"

"I swear he won't" Meliodas ensured her. He had a feeling Baltra would be overjoyed once he'd find out what would transpire.
Luckily for Meliodas Elizabeth chose to not question why he was so sure about it.
Instead she just giggled and decided to look at the forest they were swiftly passing through. It was fond memories that flooded her mind...
Then a few steps more through some extra thick bushes and try stood in a clearing. Elizabeth was mesmerized by the beauty, so much in fact that she didn't seem to immediately remember that that clearing was more important than the rest of the forest.
They just stood there till the memories started flooding through Elizabeth's mind.

Meliodas immediately knew, by the look on her face that she remembered. And so he spoke up.
"This is where everything began Y'know...the first place we met that wasn't the battlefield, and it...it was the place I told you I loved you for the first time"

Elizabeth couldn't help but let out a small giggle. "Yeah, I nearly fainted"

Meliodas found himself chuckling at the memory too. He had had to catch her and keep her steady on her feet.
"I remember that...I wanted this to be the place of new beginnings...the place where I came to know who you were outside if the battlefield, and the place where our romance began" Meliodas told Elizabeth who'd already heard that explication many many times, but it still managed to bring a big smile into her face.
"And now...I want to start a new beginning for you and I.." Meliodas then continued, and it caught Elizabeth a little off guard.

'A new beginning?' Elizabeth wondered but then she guessed what he'd meant.
"Oh, you mean cause the curse is finally broken now?"

"Yeeess" Meliodas agreed, but the underlying tone of his voice hinted that there was more.
"And what did we agree we'd do after the curse wound break?"

"Live our lives together for the rest of our lives?"

Meliodas chuckled as he realized that Elizabeth wouldn't easily figure it out, so he just cut right to the chase.
"3000 years ago you'd always gush about humans and their traditions..one tradition in particular....remember that?..Marriage. And I didn't understand the fuzz but it made you happy so one day I asked if we should get married after the war...I had no idea how important that question was...but now I've lived 3000 years amongst humans, and I've gotta say that marriage seems really nice...so" Meliodas said and with that, he took Elizabeth's hand with his right, and put his left in his pocket...and then...he slowly went down on one knee.
"I want you to ask you properly this time...Elizabeth Liones..my princess, my goddess, my everything...will you marry me?" He asked and pulled his left hand out of his pocket, and in it he held a ring. A beautiful engagement ring.

Elizabeth gasped and brought her jabs up to her mouth. Immediately tears started gathering in her eyes.
"Yes" Elizabeth said, but it was muffled not only by her hands but also by her voice that she had made quiet in order to not break into a cry.

"Sorry what? Was that a yes?" Meliodas asked, somewhat teasing. Because while he had honestly not heard the answer very clearly he knew for a fact that it was a yes.

"Yes..yes yes YES, of course I'll marry you!" Elizabeth exclaimed and practically flung herself into Meliodas's arms.
He wasn't prepared though and tumbled over onto his back.
But he didn't make an attempt to get back up, he just laid there and hugged elicit as she was happily crying into his chest.

"I love you" He hard he mumbled into his chest, so he stretched up to kiss the top of her head as he relied "I love you more"
