It was supposed to be a day of celebration. The capital had survived the attack against the Ten Commandments, and fraudrin, the mastermind behind so many tragedies had finally been killed, but therein lays the problem.

The way he was killed simply didn't sit right with a lot of people, maybe because the one to have killed him was Meliodas, whom many had seen dead just 1 month earlier, and now that he was somehow back he was different. His fight against fraudrin proved as much.

He had been cold, ruthless...heartless even.
The words he spoke, and the mere look on his face as he took his fellow demon's life was chilling.

That is why he had been hesitant to go to the small party being held between close friends.
Obviously he was invited.
And after having thought about it king and hard he had decided to attend.

He wasn't at all surprised when everything came to a halt when he made it through it door.
"Yo, what with those looks" he chuckled, putting up that facade that he'd gotten oh so used to over the past 3000 years. It wasn't fake...at least not all the time, but as Meliodas had been loosing his emotions every time he died he was beginning to loose touch with himself.

No answer was immediately given as they exchanged a few looks.
"Listen..Cap'n..." Ban started, and Meliodas thoroughly believed he was about to be asked to leave so everyone else could just enjoy their evening.
"Regarding what happened today-" he began, going slow and steady.
However not everyone was as patient.

"What happened out there?"

"That totally wasn't like you!"

"And how are you even alive?"

Meliodas held up his hands in a defensive positions.
"Wow wow slow it down"

"Your heart rate is spiking" Gowther who had just been released from imprisonment commented, and Meliodas shot him a unimpressed look.

"Well it's not like I didnt expect these questions..." he finally let his facade fall as he frowned and looked to the side avoiding looking at anyone.
"But you're right... what happened today wasn't cool"

"That's an understatement"

"Still doesn't explain why you did it dude"

"I know!" Meliodas nearly shouted but quickly composed himself well enough to try again. "I-I know...I know" meliodas was looking away, not able to stand the looks he was being given by all his friends. The people that he loved that was now contemplating if they could still trust him.
"Shouldn't we just celebrate tonight?"

"Uhm, sir Meliodas" Gilthunder now stepped forward. Unlike some others he didn't detest Meliodas of his actions, nor was he afraid. He was merely confused.
"We're just worried about You" was all he could mutter out.

Meliodas smiled a tiny smile somewhat in Gilthunder's direction, but chose not to comment on it.

"He's right Cap'n...we don't want to judge you, but we're do want to understand" Ban spoke and made Meliodas look him in the eyes.
