Chapter 21 - Insane

"I still can't believe you didn't tell me." Marlene said whilst narrowing her eyes at her best friend.

"Not everything revolves around you, my dear." Fabian said with a mock smile.

Marlene glared at him and rolled her eyes.

"Why didn't you write us?" She insisted.

Jen sighed for the hundredth time since she had sitten down on the common room couch and looked at Marlene like she was about to blast her head off. She loved her. She did, but sometimes she could kill her.

"Look, we had kissed on New Year's eve and that was it. There was nothing more to it and then we officialized it on the train. I wasn't really thinking about telling my best friends. It would be more logical to talk to the guy first, no?" Jen tried to rationalize.

Marlene was quiet for a few minutes, which made everyone look at her.

"Yeah. No."

The five friends groaned at that and Lily shook her head.

"Give it a rest Marls. Next time Jen takes a shit she'll tell you." Lily said with an eye roll.

"Good one, Lils." Gideon said high-fiving her.

Jen and the others smiled at that and Lily winked at him.

"I got to give it to you Lils, you're pretty funny when you want to." Jen said with a smile.

"Seems like you do have a purpose here." Fabian added with a grin.

Lily rolled her eyes but grinned anyway. She loved her friends so much.

"What about me, you idiots?" Alice asked with a frown.

"You're still our sweet cinnamon roll, Al." Fabian said whilst side hugging her.

"Sweet at the beginning and sour at the end." Gideon added.

"That not how-" Lily was about to argue.

"He's trying to make a point, Lils." Jen defended with a smile.

"Why thank you, sweetheart." Gideon said winking at Jen.

Jen feigned a blush and acted like an infuriated girl before the six of them burst out laughing.

"Do I have to worry?" Remus asked in a playful tone.

Jennifer turned around and couldn't help a big grin form on her lips. She simply loved being near him, hear his voice or even look at him... Yeah, she was already getting in it bad.

Gideon put an arm around her shoulders and smiled at Remus nonchalantly.

"Well, that depends, Lupin. Are you hotter than me?" Gideon asked.

Remus did his corner smile Jen loved so much and looked at her intensely all whilst putting his two hands on the back of the couch behind her. That single move made her crazy. She couldn't believe that all of that was hers.

"He is." She simply answered before putting both her hands around his neck and kiss him.

She heard the whole group whistle at them and she smiled into the kiss before letting him go and glaring at her friends in a playful manner.

She then moved a little bit closer to Gideon so that Remus could get closer to her and as he sat down, she put her back against his chest and her legs on Gideon's lap. Remus, that couldn't contain his smile, put his left arm around her shoulder before she took his hand and started playing with his fingers.

"Could you stop being so bloody cute?" Marlene asked with a pout.

Jen quirked her eyebrows up as to say no whilst Remus simply smiled.
