The morning before Christmas, the Marauders decided to show up to help them out with their parents. It had not been planed and Jen had told them they were fine, but they insisted. It was a wonderful idea and she was very grateful. An idea, she was sure, was Remus's.
She had even insisted they stayed the night for their help, which they agreed to some time after.
And as their parents were taking a nap because they were more than tired, Jennifer, her brothers and the rest of the Marauders were sitting around the table, eating something Remus had made. Until a few Owls entered their window and dropped a few letters on a table nearby.
Sirius stood up and put their parents' letter on one side before handing James a letter and taking a dozen of letters for him, before smiling at a specific one. And surprisingly, there was one more that Sirius tossed at her.
It was surprising because Jen and her friends always send each other letters at night. There must have been something wrong.
"There's a letter for you." Sirius said handing Jen an envelope.
Jen looked up from her cereal bowl and furrowed her eyebrows. Why didn't he just say who it was? It sure as hell must've been important. She never got letters during the day and he knew it.
So, she took the envelope and looked at the name before quirking her eyebrows up in surprise. Surprise and not eagerness. She did not even smile. Why wasn't she particularly happy about it?
"Who wrote to you?" James asked her, all whilst trying to peak from the other side of the table.
Jen smacked his head and smiled viciously.
"Wyatt."
Everyone looked up from whatever they were doing and looked at her. Some were making eyes at her and others looked surprised. But there was still someone that could not look away. Someone that was at the same time eagerly looking at her and frowning. She knew he wanted her to explain immediately.
"What does he want?" James asked.
"To shag." Sirius automatically replied.
"Shut up." Remus said right after, in a very threatening tone.
James smacked Sirius while the latter rubbed his arm and Jen smiled at them, shaking her head. They were the complete opposite type of brothers. James was overly protective and Sirius was a bit too comfortable.
"I'm reading it first." She simply stated and started to do just that.
Dear Jennifer,
I know this must be weird considering I've never written to you but I decided to still shoot my shot and do it to invite you and your friends to a party, us, Ravenclaws throw every year the night before Christmas. It sure isn't the same as when you guys throw it but it isn't too bad. I hope this didn't freak you out. Anyway, no need to answer the letter, just come or don't and I'll have my answer. Have a great holiday.Wyatt.
PS: I forgot to give you the address. 19, Church Street London WC76 2UI.
"So?" Sirius asked impatiently.
Jennifer smiled at him. At everyone.
"Looks like we're going to a party."

Before even getting dressed, Jen called their aunt over so that she could take care of her parents while she was away. She knew it may sound selfish but she needed a break. She was more than happy to be the one taking care of them and making sure they were alright but she was exhausted half of the time. Her mother still didn't want to be taken care of and her father was very very tired. Besides, she had her brother that was freaking out internally, so she had to reassure him. He did seem a bit better after Lily had agreed to go on a date a few days after he had declined to stay with his sister.
