Like everyone already knew, Jennifer was not a morning person but on the 1st of September 1977, she certainly was. That night wasn't only a first day of school but also her last first day of school. It was the last time she would wake up that soon and take the Hogwarts Express for the first day of school. But she was not going to let herself demotivate.
So she simply stood up that day and put on a red velvet mini skirt and a red and white striped t-shirt before putting on some brown boots with 5-centimeter heels. She put light makeup on and styled her hair so that it would look neatly curled instead of messy like James's.
She then put the makeup toilet bag in her trunk and closed it before using her wand to levitate it downstairs. Jen walked downstairs, her trunk behind her, when a surprisingly good-looking Sirius appeared in front of her.
"Looking good, Sirius." She complimented him.
Sirius winked at her and handed her a cup of coffee, which she took gladly.
"Looking good as well, Jennifer." He said smiling.
And just like if they were summoned, her parents appeared next to them. Her father with his perfect hair and her mother with her messy one. Both of them were bickering like always.
"I was the one that told him." Fleamont said.
Euphemia scoffed at her husband.
"That's a flat lie. I was the one to tell him and you know it." Euphemia insisted.
Sirius and Jen looked at the two adults with a frown. What the hell were they talking about?
"I told you they were going to break up and I told him the same. James!" Fleamont said, yelling the last part.
"I'm coming." James shouted from upstairs. "I am styling my hair."
Sirius and Jennifer smiled at each other.
"James? Can you bring me my Quidditch Jersey? I forgot it on my bed." Jennifer shouted after her brother.
It was quiet for a few seconds and then James's voice could be heard again.
"Wait a second. You're not in the team. You have no Quidditch Jersey. Why are you asking me to get you something you don't have?" He shouted again.
"Why are you styling your hair?" She asked back.
James got out of the bathroom with his hair done and levitated his trunk downstairs. He took the coffee his parents had made for him and once he had taken some, he looked at Jen.
"Haha."
Jen shrugged and Sirius rolled his eyes.
"This year will be the best year of our lives." Sirius said with a bright smile.
James and Jen looked at each other. It was going to be their last year so a lot of them were going to be sad.
"Why is that?"Jen asked him with an eyebrow raised.
"We're single. All three of us." Sirius said still smiling.
James chuckled and Jen rolled her eyes. Her brother then put his arms around Sirius and Jen's shoulder and smiled broadly.
"I, my friends, will be dating Lily Evans this year."
Sirius and Jen both moved James's arms and sighed. They had been rooting for him for six years. There was no reason for the last year to be different from the others. No reason at all.
"And I will be in a stable relationship." Sirius said.
"Oh, and I will totally not make Remus regret leaving me." Jen added.
