"She has a date?"

James shrugged before he let himself fall down on the couch next to Sirius.

As soon as his sister and her friends had explained to him where she was going, he went straight to the common room and as soon as he found Remus and the others, he explained them everything.

"I don't know." He admitted. "Marlene said it was but she exaggerates everything."

Sirius nodded.

"It is true. She once told me that my reputation as a good shag was as interesting as Professor Binn's class." He complained.

The three boys were silent.

"What?" He snapped.

"Well-" Peter began.

"Don't!" Sirius warned.

James shook his head and looked at Remus instead. He did not look one bit fine. He was in fact very disturbed and sad. He looked like someone had punched him in the gut.

"Moony?" James asked slowly. "It's just Wyatt and his friends near the Black Lake with my sister. This had nothing of your first date with my sister."

Remus looked up at James and narrowed his eyebrows in thought. He was right. She was just hanging out with a new friend. A friend James had presented to her. But it was a boy. Jen liked boys. What if she was to like him more than necessary?

"Yeah, well, you kind of crashed their first and only date. So..." Sirius pointed out.

James narrowed his at his best friend and sighed.

"I was-"

"Stupid?" Peter chimed in.

"Arrogant?" Sirius continued.

"Selfish?" A very cocky Remus answered in a semi harsh tone.

He sighed harder. He had been a shitty brother. It was true. But he had changed. So there was absolutely no need to bring that up. No need at all. Apart from the fact that he had indeed been wrong.

"Anyways. It is not a date." James clarified.

"You do not know." Peter said slowly.

As James and Peter were bickering, Sirius was looking at a distraught Remus and smiled as an idea popped in his head.

"We could always take James's invisibility cloak and see how it goes for ourselves. Marlene is not a good source." He proposed.

James snorted.

"Moony would never-" He started.

"Okay. Let's do it." Remus cut him off.

James's eyes narrowed as he stood up along Sirius and Remus.

"No fucking way. Let her be. Come on." He insisted.

Remus looked at him and cocked an eyebrow. He was going and he was letting him.

"I call the Evans rule."

James immediately groaned as Sirius grinned.

The Evans rule was a rule James had invented where all of the Marauders had to go with him and spy on her whenever she had a date. But that rule wasn't only for James. No. Remus was using his rule against him.
