Chapter 2

*Matt's P.O.V*

"So how much are you going to want to take to the apartment?" I asked Alex as I just came into her house with some boxes.

"I can probably take the majority of my wardrobe and if I have to, I can always go shopping over there. Pack my necessities that are in the bathroom. Then maybe a few other small things. But here's my question, how are we going to get back there?" She asked me.

I put the boxes to the side. "How many duffle bags do you have?"

"I have maybe one or two. But it's probably not a lot of stuff. Plus, I have my suitcase."

"I'm asking because when I went to take a look at the apartment with the real estate agent, there was already furniture. I'm slowly packing my clothes, I did that before I came to visit you. If you wanna bring some stuff like that to Georgia just let me know." I said as I grabbed her hand.

She looked around her bedroom.

"When we end up going back to Georgia..." She started to say. "I know that this will be my childhood room. I'm sure my parents will keep it as is."

"You wanna pack your clothes and then some of the stuff in your bathroom?" I asked.

She nodded. "That's a good start."

So that is what we did. She grabbed one of the duffle bags that she had in her closet and then we started packing her clothes. We folded shirts, pants, shorts and even the underwear and socks.

She was able to use her suitcase with half of her shirts, with even the underwear and socks in the pocket. Then in a duffle bag, she put the rest of her shirts in the bag and in another duffle bag, we packed her shorts and pants. She even had decided to keep some of her clothes that she doesn't really wear in her room. She had a couple of hoodies but she is taking two. She said that she could always buy more when in Georgia.

Then we found a bag that she was able to use for her shoes.

"I think I have another bag for some of my stuff in the bathroom. I don't have a lot of stuff in there anyway." Alex said as she dug inside her closet.

I watched on as she tried to find something for her stuff. I remember yesterday how she had gone to the front porch to tell her best friends about her moving. She didn't tell me how they reacted but I just guessed they didn't take the news well because they weren't with her when I went to check on her.

She was pretty upset and I was there to comfort her.

I know that this is hard for her still but I also know that she's pretty excited about this. She wants to move in with me and continue our story.

She grabbed a bag from her closet and then we went to the bathroom. She packed up some of the stuff that was hers and then we were done.

"Are we going to be leaving tomorrow?" She asked me.

I nodded. "I'll be sure to give you time with your parents before we leave."

"I talked to them earlier today when you were in the shower."

I looked at her with a curious expression. "What did they say?"

She looked at me. "They started again with what they had said yesterday about how it's a huge responsibility and a big step in my life. Of course, they're scared of this because I am their only child but they also would want me to branch out and see new things and seek adventure. It's going to be hard for them but they won't stop me. They think I'll be okay with it."

"I know that this is hard for you." I softly said.

"It is. Kayleb had denied it but at this point, I understand why he is mad. But yeah, it's hard for me but I'm ready for this next step in my life."
