Chapter 7

*Alex's P.O.V*

"It's going to be alright. Plus, it's normal to be nervous on your first day." Matt said as he had driven me to Target.

I officially got the job at target. The day after my interview, they called me and said that I got the job. Which I was very ecstatic about because this was my first job. Plus, I would know what Kayleb goes through because he works at Wal-Mart.

"I just don't want to mess up." I said, looking at him.

"It's okay to mess up." Matt started to say. "That's the journey of it."

I guess he was right when he said that. It's okay to make mistakes when working at a job. Especially if it's your first job.

I nodded at what he said and then got out of the car. Matt got out of the car too and then walked over to me. He wrapped his arms around me and I buried my face into his chest, just embracing our hug. I would need it anyway because of how nervous I was.

We pulled back from the hug. "I believe in you, Alex."

I smiled and then brought him in for a kiss. He immediately kissed back and we kissed for a few seconds before we pulled away.

"If there is any trouble then don't be afraid to tell your boss. Then if that doesn't go well then call me. Okay?"

I nodded. "Okay."

He kissed my forehead and then gave me one last hug. "I'll be here once you finish your shift. Perhaps, we can get some dinner after you're done."

"Sounds great." I smiled really big at him and then started to walk towards Target.

"I love you." I heard Matt shout from behind me.

"I love you too." I said when I turned around to tell him that.

The walk towards Target seems long when in reality, it was only for 30 seconds at the most. I went to where I had to go so that I could talk to the manager. I went in the back and then was at the door where the manager would be at.

I knocked on the door and then waited.

Then a voice came. "Come in."

I walked into the room and there stood my manager, Steve.

"Oh, you must be, Alex." Steve said.

"Yes, that's me, sir." I said and then continued to stand.

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to sit in the chair that sat across from him. I was nervous enough so what should I do?

"So here is what you're going to do today, Alex." Steve started to say. "I'll keep it simple for you this week. You can work in the back where the other workers are where they pile up the deliveries of new food, drinks, and other various products. Put those products on rolley that they use so that other workers come and put the products on the shelf. How does that sound?"

That's something similar to what I've seen Kayleb do. Kind of. But that was good for me.

"Perfect." I said.

Steve smiled. "I'll lead you to the other door where the other workers are."

I followed Steve around Target that has another door and he let me inside. I was already dressed in my beige pants and target shirt with my name on it. My hair was in a ponytail. Plus, Steve was right. Other workers were already here doing the job.

Where do I even start?

I had seen boxes of deliveries by the door so I grabbed a box and then opened it up to see that it was filled with pasta boxes. I guess I sort them out and then put them on the rolley that Steve was talking about.
