*Alex's P.O.V*
|10 months later|
As if life can't get any harder. Well, anyway, we're now here on the day that I have been expecting for a while.
I'm back in California.
After pretty much a year of living in Georgia, I'm back in California.
Today is Kayleb's graduation and I, of course, want to see him graduate. I made sure to come here on his big day.
It's just me here. Matt is back in Georgia dealing with some things about college. He just graduated high school a few days ago as well and he's now 19 years old. I'm now 17 years old.
During the past ten months, life has been pretty sweet the majority of the time. I went on vacation with Matt and his family before I started my junior year. Oh, that reminds me that I'm now a senior in high school. Then next year, I graduate. Time flew by.
Matt and I's relationship continues to grow stronger each and every day. We've almost had a big argument about late nights because I think for a while Matt would get distracted and he wouldn't be home until very late at night. Like at two in the morning. But we were able to resolve the problem and it's all okay.
I even got to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with Matt's family. It's special to me because it was mine and Matt's first Thanksgiving and Christmas with each other. Plus, it actually felt like Christmas to me because I actually spent it with a family.
Macsen had started to have an interest in golf and he's now 14 years old.
I'm still working at Target where I hang out with mostly Garrett. He graduated high school too and he's going to start having a part time job at Target because he will be starting college in the fall.
Just recently, I dyed my hair. I added some blonde highlights. The color of my hair came out really good and Matt really likes it.
I even got to spend my birthday with Matt this year. The first of many times where I'll be spending my birthday with him. He took me out to this really nice restaurant and gave me a promise ring. I still wear it four months later.
For Matt's birthday, we took a trip to the Bahamas. It was only for a few days but it was really fun.
And now, I'm in California and at my parent's house.
Which is also my childhood home.
"It's good to see you again. I missed you so much." My mom said as she sat in front of me.
My dad is currently at work but I know that later today, I'll stop by and see him.
"I missed you too. How have things been while I've been gone?" I asked.
"With your father and I, things have been well. We're still taking turns with the night shifts even though you're not here anymore. We've decided to continue doing that." She explained.
I nodded. "I can understand that. I know it must be hard working at a doctor's office."
"Trust me, it's hard."
I smiled a light smile. "What time does the graduation ceremony start?"
My mom looked at the time. "In an hour. Are you ready to see Kayleb again?"
"It's been a year since I last saw him, mom." I said. "I wanna know how he's been this past year."
"You haven't heard?" She asked.
"Heard about what?"
"Kayleb has been going through a hard time the past couple of months. I worry about him even though I haven't seen him." My mom said.
