BEVERLY'S POV

In through the door walked a teenage girl who looked around Pony's age, causing me to move my eyes to my kid brother. He stared at the girl with a look in his eyes I don't think I've ever seen, it could've been in awe or pure hatred for all I know. Everyone's head turned to look at her. Her mid-length hair which was a mix of some red, blonde, and brown was kept in a braid that came around her shoulder. She wore glasses but they didn't cover up her pretty greenish and light brown eyes that twinkled like stars. She was probably a couple inches shorter than Ponyboy or maybe around the same height, wearing a worn down pair of converse, a button down flannel, and loose jeans. Her nose was identical to Two Bits', which wasn't a bad thing because his nose was probably his best feature. Light glinted from her lips revealing the thin layer of lip gloss she wore.

"Everyone, this is my sister Natalia. Natalia these are my friends," Two Bit explained while introducing each of us.

"Hi guys," she spoke and an awkward silence filled the air. I don't think anyone knew what to say. Two Bit gave me a desperate glare so I decided to try and resolve the situation.

"Nice to meet ya Natalia. Are you two hungry? We got plenty of pizza left," I offered while pulling out chairs for them to sit in. Natalia sat in between Two and I.

"Yeah that would be nice. I haven't had pizza since I got here," she spoke in an almost whisper, I gave her a welcoming smile while handing her a slice.

Pretty soon the awkward silence passed when Steve pinched Dally's arm causing Dal to push him out of his seat and they began to playfully wrestle each other. The rest of the boys hopped up from their seat cheering them on. Some chanting "Go Dally" while the others screamed "Get em Steve". In all the chaos I looked next to me only to see Natalia staring in fear and confusion as to what is going on. I know how she felt because I was in her position not too long ago, and hanging out with the gang can be.. quite an adjustment from normal.

I placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, "It's okay Nat, they do this all the time for fun, no ones getting hurt," I paused, "is it okay if I call you Nat?"

She laughed at the boys and shook her head, "Yeah it's actually what my old friends used to call me," she smiled. I felt bad for her just now realizing how she had to get up and leave her home to come here, and how hard that might've been for her. I could only hope the gang could welcome her like they did me and we could be her new friends. It would be nice to have another girl around, even though she's a few years younger than me.

"How old are you anyway?" I questioned.

"Fourteen, turning fifteen in a few months."

"Cool! That's how old my brother Ponyboy is, maybe you guys will have some classes together." I saw a slight frown form on her face.

"If what Two told me is true and Pony is a genius, than it's more than likely we won't have any classes together."

"Oh he's not a genius," I joked trying to make her feel better, "Two Bit will say that about almost anyone."

She laughed at my joke, proving to me she had a sense of humor. We chatted some more small talk about Two Bit and I pointed out my brothers to her. When Pony saw me pointing at him he gave the both of us a dirty look, making Nat shoot me a confused look which turned into the both of us laughing. Natalia and I were talking most of the night, I think she was too shy to talk to the rest of the gang but I do not blame her. Before I knew it it was nine o'clock. That's really not late for us but Two Bit made it a point that he needed to get Natalia home so his mom didn't flip out. We did our handshake we just made up before her and her brother left. Once they were gone everyone was pretty tired out.

"Who's up to watch a movie at the drive in?" Johnny proposed his idea, the gang greeting him with nods and shouts of agreement. I sat still on the couch with my arms cross in protest because I, of course, did not think this would be a good idea. Dally curled up next to me, wrapping his arms around my shoulders and resting his chin on my chest.

"Pleaseee Bevy," he begged.

"No Dal-dal, it's a school night," I said, hoping it would get a reaction out of him.

"Now you've done it," he warned, hoisting me up over his shoulder and running through the front door with me. I pounded my fists against his back.

"Put me down," I screamed, "put me down right now Dallas Tucker Winston. I'M SORRY." I lifted up my head once we came to a halt in the middle of the street. I saw the guys waving to us from our house. Dally's grip loosened and I jumped down, taking off running towards the gang.

Once we were all settled back in the house, I noticed the overall exhaustion, and it was a school night for Pony, Johnny, and I. I stood up from my spot on the couch and squeezed Johnny's chin like a grandma, "How about we go see a movie tomorrow night, Johnnycakes."

"Only if you promise to come," he bargained.

"Of course," I smiled and gave him a kiss on the head, as I did with Pony and Soda before heading off to bed. Dallas trailed behind me.

"Door open," Darry advised.

I reached my bedroom doorway and turned to give Dally a kiss.

"Good night," I leaned into him as he smoothly held his lips against mine. Only for a second. He squeezed me tight, without a word. And than walked away. He always knew how to leave me wanting his presence.
