BEVERLY'S POV

Today was my first day back in school after break. It's only been a few days since I got held up by the socs and I hadn't really talked to Dally. He didn't bother coming around anyway. I think my brothers noticed something was wrong but they just left me alone bout it, guess they knew it was something I didn't wanna talk about.

It was a cold morning, the coldest one I've felt all year. Pony was all bundled up with a hat, coat, and boots but I realized I had nothing to wear for the walk to school. I wore leggings with a sweater and a leather jacket but it was all I had. Thankfully Soda lent me a hat and scarf and Darry gave me his old work jacket. I probably would've froze to death. Pony and I were halfway to school and it felt like negative degrees outside despite the layers of clothing I was wearing. To my surprise a familiar car pulled up next to us to offer us a ride. It was Two Bit!

"Need a ride to school?" he offered.

"I've never been so glad to see you," I spoke my thoughts out loud and Pony agreed as we hopped in the back seat.

"Ouch," he replied. I haven't seen Two Bit since around Thanksgiving. I had no idea where he went or what he did when he wasn't with us, maybe spent time with his family? He never brought it up so neither did I.

"Long time no see pal," Pony broke the silence, saying exactly what I was thinking.

"Yeah it's been a... weird couple of days to say the least," Two Bit answered.

"You've intrigued me Two, please continue."

"I found out my sister is coming to stay with me here, in Tulsa," he said sounding completely dumb-founded like the news had just been told to him. Pony and I, both unsure of what to say, exchanged confused looks. "Yeah I didn't know what to say either," Two now joked.

"Is this good thing or a bad thing?" I questioned, unable to tell by the tone of his voice.

"Well I don't know myself."

"When's she coming?"

"Tonight."

"You can bring her over to our house for dinner this week," I offered, "it'll be a good time and all the gang can come."

"Swell," he replied in that same unreadable tone of voice. Just as the conversation ended we arrived at school. Pony and I thanked Two Bit for the ride and began walking to our classes.

"I have so many questions," I began.

"So do I. The most I know about Two's family is that he lives with his mom who takes real good care of him and his dad left a while back. I guess he took Two's sister with him. But his dad sucks big time so it was only a matter of time until his sister got sent to live with him," Pony explained, feeding me all the information he knew. It was a lot to take in. We went our separate ways and I didn't see him again until he arrived at home. He got home kinda late, said he had track practice.

After finishing my school work I joined the rest of the gang while they hung out around my house. Everyone was there except Two Bit cause his kid sister got here tonight. I figured it would be best if I told the gang since I invited her over for dinner, I knew Two wouldn't mind.

"Hey guys, I'm guessing y'all don't know why Two Bit isn't here tonight and why he hasn't been around the last few days so I'll tell ya. His kid sister came to live with him and his mom. She just got here tonight and I told him he could bring her over here soon for dinner. He's going through an awkward time right now and we need to show him we are here for him. I don't want any of you talking shit," I announced.

Shocked expressions spread through out the room, some shocked by the fact he had a sister that's now living with him, or the part where I invited a girl who we have not one idea about who she is besides the fact she is Two's sister, to our house for dinner. After taking a moment to process the information I'd thrown at them they resumed their activities. All accept for Dally. He got up from where he was sitting and greeted me with a smile. I smiled back being polite and tried to not let the horrific thoughts from the other night intoxicate my brain. Not knowing what to do next I hugged him. Wrapping my arms around his shoulders and his around my waist, expelling all the bad thoughts from my head.

"I've missed you. I've missed this," I whispered in his hear.

His grip tightened as he whispered back, "Me too." Dally and I had been together for around a month, give or take, and we had yet to say "I love you". I was in love with Dallas, I think, because I never felt like this before, but it never felt like the right time to tell him and I figured it was too soon. And part of me wanted him to say it first so I didn't make a fool of myself.

Once I pulled away from him I joined the rest of the gang in sitting at the table and couch. I sat with Johnny and gave him a hug, having not seen him since that day him and Pony went off.

The next few nights were pretty much the same situation, all the gang hanging out, except for Two Bit. Until Thursday we heard a knock at the door. A knock that would change all of our lives in the slightest.
