"You want to know what he told me?"

It was already hard enough keeping up with Severus when you hadn't been drinking. He stood such long, perfect strides that it took some effort to keep up with him. Now that you had three rounds of Firewhisky (one of which that you drank way too fast) coursing through your veins, your motor skills weren't exactly fine tuned. If it weren't for the harsh grip of his hand around your wrist, you were sure that you would've lost his trail long ago.

"Severus, where are we going and why are you so pissy all of a sudden?" You questioned twice, swallowing down a hiccup.

You hadn't quite caught the way his pupils were blown out of their normal size, and you didn't see just how aggravated he was. You were a bit distracted by the conversation you had with Remus, and it seemed that the alcohol wasn't drowning it out enough. While wherever Severus was taking you was a mystery, you were far too eager to share what had just happened with him.

Alcohol always seemed to loosen your tongue a bit.

"Severus!" You screamed, but in a whisper, "I saw Moony at the bar!"

Severus' grasp tightened around your hand, but you didn't notice.

"Oh, I noticed," He grumbled through bared teeth, "He had quite a lot to say."

"You want to know what he told me?" You slurred, your words melting together.

"For your sake, I don't think I do." He growled, taking a corner to go into a different corridor.

His vision was a bit blurred as he navigated the castle. Severus was feeling the effects of the drinks too, and he swore that all the hallways looked the same now. Eventually, he located the tall dark door of his chambers, getting you inside quickly before anyone saw you meandering about.

Severus had a feeling that he was getting worked up over nothing. Alcohol did tend to make him brash and bold. He had seen your entire encounter go down with Remus. For reasons unknown and reasons he didn't understand, seeing you with Remus made him angry. He knew he shouldn't have been mad. It wasn't like you were his girlfriend talking to another man at a bar. He just needed to sober up and let it go. You were an independent woman, and he had no say in your life.

He was a bit worried to send you back on your own, so he wanted to keep an eye on you for a little while. Just to make sure you weren't going to go jump in the lake naked or something. You crashed onto the sofa in his living space, not even taking the time to look around. Severus stood in the kitchen, attempting to fill a glass with water for you. His hands were fumbling as he tried to fight off the effects of alcohol on his body. He always cursed himself for imbibing too much alcohol, because he hated how clumsy it made him.

"Here," He grumbled, "Drink it." He ordered, shoving the glass of water into your hand when he returned to you.

"I don't want it." You argued, your head lolled back into one of his throw pillows.

"You need to drink some water," He sighed, "You'll be thankful that you did."

With a huff, you grasped the cup with two hands, downing half of it and miraculously not spilling any of it.

"Good enough." Severus remarked, taking the half empty glass from you.

You flopped backwards onto the couch, sinking into the cushions again.

"Severus," You drawled out, "What were we talking about again...?"

"No idea." Severus lied, stumbling into his kitchen area to put your cup away.
