(A/N): Hi, everyone! So while this story is completed...there's one little part I left out. It's been sitting in my drafts because I've been debating on whether I wanted to post it or not. If you'll recall from the epilogue, Minnie mentions that [Y/N] sent her a letter before giving Severus HIS letter. I originally decided not to include Minnie's letter, because I wanted parts of the ending to be left up to interpretation. While that partly remains true, I decided that including [Y/N]'s letter to Minerva might clear some things up.
__
Dear Minnie,
I know it's been quite some time since I've seen you. I know I left in a hurry and created more questions than answers. I debated on whether or not I wanted to reach out at all...I know I left a lot of loose ends back at Hogwarts. In any event, I hope you're doing well. I suppose I'm writing this letter to catch up...because I've been thinking about Severus a lot recently.
We're still keeping Sirius out of the public eye. We're living in London for now, since Sirius prefers it here. Sirius and I got married shortly after I left. It was a small wedding and one that was very much under the radar. The part that I think will shock you the most is that we have a child now. A little girl who just turned two.
She's an incredible child. She's so intelligent and has a dangerous curiosity. She's very sneaky for a toddler, and sometimes Sirius and I are convinced that she's smarter than the both of us. Sirius adores her. Sirius loves that little girl more than breathing. Her first word was "Padfoot", thanks to Uncle Remus for always being around and referring to Sirius as his age old nickname.
Sirius spends a lot of his time with her. She loves playing with him and he loves teaching her things about the world of magic. I think Sirius feels guilty for not being able to be there for Harry. I think he's trying to make up for it through her. Like I said, Sirius loves our little girl.
But I know that she isn't his daughter.
My entire pregnancy I knew that there was a chance that she was Severus' child. I spent every day trying to figure out the odds of whether she was Severus' or Sirius'. For a while, I thought that I'd never know who her father was.
But I knew the moment that I saw her eyes.
Her eyes are identical to Severus'. They're black and mysterious and hold a certain luster to them that I only ever saw in Severus Snape's eyes. Sirius doesn't know, or at least, I don't think he does. Sometimes he'll see her do something or hear her babble something that isn't characteristic for either of us. I don't know if he knows but won't accept it or if he hasn't the slightest clue. Either way, I know for a fact she isn't his.
My owl should've brought you an additional letter. It's a letter to Severus from me. If you would be so kind, I'm asking you to deliver it to him. It'll explain some things to him that I never got a chance to.
I wish I had listened to you and Albus. I had a choice all along. I had a fork in the road and honestly...there are times where I think I made the wrong choice. Don't get me wrong, Sirius is wonderful. Our life is everything we ever wanted it to be. I just harbor such guilt for what I did to Severus. That's karma I suppose. I finally got what I wanted, but I can't always enjoy it.
I hope he'll move on from me. Hell, I hope he'll move on from Lily. I think about him a lot, and I hope that one day he'll see that he isn't a bad man. Forgiveness still exists for us...or for him at least.
The chance I took on Severus was one that I don't regret...but I hate that chance for hurting him the way it did. I should've listened to my heart when it was telling me that I still loved Sirius. I could've saved Severus a lot of hurt.
And I know that I have to live with that for life.
Take care of yourself, Minerva. I miss you.
With love,
[Y/N]
