"You promised me. You promised me more than once that I had nothing to worry about,"

Waking up naked in the arms of Sirius Black was the last way you had expected for this encounter to go. It had been a long night for the two of you, sharing kisses and intimate moments well into the night hours. You weren't sure when you had fallen asleep, but you hadn't expected to stay the night there. You awoke naturally just as the sun was coming up, a bit dazed and confused as to where your current location was.
You eyes darted around the room, scanning and eventually identifying the barely familiar bedroom. The first feeling to come over you was bliss, complete content in remembrance of what had happened the night before. And then the second feeling settled in.
Panic. Pure panic.
You all but leapt out of bed, startling Sirius half to death and causing him to shoot up off of the mattress. He watched as you scrambled around the room, getting dressed back into what you had been wearing the day before.
"What's the matter, darling?" Sirius reached his hand out in an attempt to lure you back to bed.
You shook your head, denying his gesture as you zipped the back of your skirt and haphazardly tucked your sweater into the front of it. You were wide awake now, feeling a little nauseated at the abrupt awakening. You weren't supposed to be there at this point. You were supposed to return to Hogwarts the night before.
You had forgotten about Severus.
Rushes of memory flooded your mind. So much had happened in such a short period of time that you couldn't process it all. You had been with Sirius all night. You had slept with Sirius. You chose Sirius over Severus in a blind decision.
Your heart stung at remembering what Sirius had said about Severus and Lily. Severus loved your dead best friend and had pursued a relationship with you because you were the next best thing. His intentions hadn't been as clear as you had originally thought.
You were tempted not to even return to Hogwarts. You could send a letter to Dumbledore explaining your rapid exit. He could easily find a short-term replacement for your classes. You didn't even have to return to Severus. You could end things now and move on without ever seeing him again.
Even though that was the easy way out, you knew that Severus deserved better. Even if he had hurt you.
"I have to get back to Hogwarts. It wasn't my plan to stay here overnight," You explained, shoving your feet into your boots, "Where's my wand?"
Your wand wasn't in the room, and if you didn't find it, then your chances of getting back to the school were slim.
"I'm not sure. Is there really a rush to get back so quickly?" Sirius asked, swinging his feet over the side of the bed.
Your eyes raked over his shirtless frame, tattoos littering his skin and slender frame. His presence was addicting, intoxicating almost.
"I'm afraid so. I still have a job, you know." You replied, not being so forward with your reasons.
"That's true," Sirius shrugged, stretching his arms over his head, "[Y/N], I'll see you again, won't I?"
You didn't respond right away. You felt guilty about giving in to Sirius the way you had. If Severus hadn't been in the picture then it'd be different...but Severus was still your boyfriend.
"Yeah, Sirius. I just have classes tomorrow and I need to do a few things," You half-lied, "It'll be a few days before I can come back though."
Sirius nodded, a rosy blush appearing on his cheeks.
