No one's P.O.V (I might just switch the entire book to 3rd person pov, I really enjoy it)

14 years later

Birds sang out into the cool morning of the mountains, their twittering coxing the other animals out of hiding. The early morning light made the snow sparkle in the mountains, though it did little for the bitter cold that ate away at the frosted trees and frozen ground.

A plump, brown bunny poked its head out of the safety of its home, sniffing the air to make sure that there was no threat for it. Slowly hopping out of it's burrow, it began to wander around in search for twigs or leaves, maybe even some hidden grass that may be peaking in through the late winter sunshine.

It came across a bush, and decided that was the closest food source it was going to get, before hopping over to it to eat. Though the rabbit would never make it there. There was a whizz, causing the air to part as the arrow sailed directly into the rabbits throat, causing the creature to squeal out in pain, before taking it's last breath as the warmth faded from it.

Feet crunched through the snow as the predator walked closer to gather their prey. Picking up the dead rodent by it's ears, they tied a string around the body, before tying the string around their belt. After collecting the now bloody arrow, they began treading through the snow, seeming to follow an invisible map.

It didn't take long before they could see smoke entering the sky, and through the dense forest around them, the wooden and cobblestone walls of their home came into sight. Their pace quickened, their feet quickly moving across the ground and making a bee line straight for the door.

Creaking it open, they stomped their boots to get rid of the loose snow, before walking fully inside the warm house. They sighed in relief once the warmth fully hit them, but they quickly grew over heated as the combination of their outdoor gear and the heat began to get to them.

Undoing their belt, they carefully hung it on the designated hook, before beginning to peal off their layers. First that came off was a white, fur trench coat that was surprising light, yet warm. Next was the hat, revealing the top of their head. They carefully untangled a scarf from around their neck and face, and slowly slipped off their gloves after hanging up everything.

Shaking their head out, they could feel the light weight of their growing horns on top of their head, their animal like ears twitching at the feeling. Their hair fell down their back in soft waves as their eyes scanned the room, taking in every detail.

The book cases in the corner, where an ancient enchanting table sat, it's spell book hovering above it. Most of the spines of the books were dusty, not having been touched in ages. The candles resting on the cases were melted to almost complete stubs, but were no longer lit.

Moving past the little reading corner, her eyes scanned the living room that currently had a raging fire warming the entire place up. There was an old, yet comfortable, couch resting in front of the flames, with two blankets thrown over the back and two pillows resting against the arms of it.

Directly across from the fire was a window that let natural light into the room, letting anyone see the snowy forest that was outside. Directly under the window was a desk with scatted papers, ink bottles and broken quills standing out within the mess of white parchment. A straight back, wooden chair rested in front of the desk, and a sigh escaped from them once they realized the room was empty.

Retracing their steps, they walked past the front door, following another hallway that lead them into yet another room decorated with stone counters and birch cabinets. The kitchen. There was a small table with two chairs under a window. But yet again, they sighed once they realized this room was empty as well.
