No one's P.O.V.

The moon rose steadily over the mountains, casting her nightly glow onto the town below. No one was up at this time of night, and all that could be heard was the symphony of crickets and the gentle swaying of the trees with the occasional breeze.

On the edge of the village however, one little girl twisted and turned in her sleep, her breathing picking up pace very quickly, and her skin becoming clammy even though it was a cool night. She didn't make a sound, but in her dreams... was a different story.

The girl dreamt of being surrounded by red fog, and there was about a 5ft radius between her and the fog. Inside of the fog though, she began to hear things. People were... saying something, but she couldn't understand what.

The voices began to grow in volume until it sounded like they were right next to her. She started turning in circles, her breath catching in her throat as she tried to identify who might be speaking, but she couldn't see anyone through the fog.

"Hello?! Who's there?!" She screamed out, but the voices only laughed at that, their volume still increasing until it felt like they were screeching in her ears. She covered her ears as tears began to pool in her eyes, streaming down her face as the laughing continued.

"HELP! Somebody, please help! Please! I'm scared!" She screamed into the darkness, praying to the gods above that someone might hear here. But no such thing was possible. The voices then began to mock her while the red fog slowly crept closer to her body.

It only took a few more minutes before everything became to much for her. Her knees crumpled from beneath her, sending her crashing to the pitch black ground. She closed her eyes and continued to scream, her ears still covered and tears still streaming down her face, not noticing how the red fog was coming closer... and closer.... and closer...

She inhaled through her mouth to scream again, only to be thrown into a coughing fit. Falling onto her side, she clutched her throat as more of the red fog began to stream down it, suffocating her.

Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she was pushed onto her back, her body occasionally convulsing as the red fog was still being absorbed into her body. It didn't take that long, until all the red fog was gone and she was left on the floor, breathing harshly through her throat.

Opening her eyes, that's when she realized that she was no longer dreaming. She was staring up at the wooden ceiling of her bedroom, occasional straw pieces poking through the gaps. She felt tears drip from her eyes, and she quickly sat up, curling her knees up closer to her.

Breathing heavily, she looked around the room, scanning for anything that could lead that her nightmare was real. But everything was just how it always was. Nothing was out of the ordinary, and nothing suggested that there might even be the slightest sign of red fog.

Exhaling a deep breath, she slowly laid back down, allowing her eyes to close as slumber took its hold on her once more. As the moon shown through the window, the rays casted across the girls face, revealing that some of her nightmare was, indeed, real.

Now drying from the streams that had happened when she was crying, was crimson blood. There were splotches of it on her clothes and bed, but the majority of it was on her face. Though the room was quiet, nothing to be heard, the child could faintly hear talking as she drifted off into sleep.

On the other hand, over the mountains and through the birch forest, was a small cabin in the middle of the woods, just outside of the city's borders, a similar thing was occurring. A small, but quite foreign, boy rolled around in his bed, grunts being heard everyone once in a while.
