Chapter 59:

Azalea's P.O.V

Phil, Wilbur, and Tommy had 6 horses, but Asher wasn't one of them. I hadn't seen my faithful horse in over 4 years.

"Where's Asher?" I asked.

"We couldn't take her because she's taking care of Luna. But you'll see her soon enough." Techno reminded me. I had completely blanked that Asher was 1. a girl and 2. a mother. I nodded my head and watched as Tommy, Wilbur, Tubbo, Ora, and Ranboo mounted their horses. That's when I realized that there was only one horse left.

"What about the rest of us? There's one horse and four of us." I commented. Techno chuckled and mounted Carl. I heard wing beats from behind me and looked up to see Phil and Whirlwind were hovering, their powerful wings sending little gusts of wind downwards. So that's how they're getting home.

I shrugged, and Techno patted the backend of Carl's saddle, motioning for me to hop on. I mounted Carl, and wrapped my hands around Techno's torso. He kicked Carl's sides and we went galloping into the forest, my dogs running along side us, Owen up above soaring with Phil and Whirlwind, and Nutmeg snuggly sleeping in my bag.

I smiled and nuzzled Techno's back, glad that I had him back and that we were going home. I don't remember falling asleep, but what I do know is that it was the best sleep I've had in over 4 years.

Techno's P.O.V

I felt Zia nuzzle my back, and my ears flared red. I didn't mind though. All too soon, I heard her breathing slow, and her heart rate become steady. She had fallen asleep. I smiled, still directing Carl where to go.

Her wolves were following not far from us, but they weren't anywhere near the horses, as to not startle them. I had Wilbur and Tubbo to my left and Tommy and Ranboo to my right. They were talking amongst themselves, so I didn't really have anyone to talk to. Which was fine.

I expanded my senses and heard Steve barreling through the forest, going home. Nikki and Michael had already gotten there safely. We made sure that they had left before we went to go get Zia's stuff.

My voices were satisfied that we had her back. I was just downright happy that she had said yes to my proposal. Now, the difficult thing was to tell everyone else. Though, I think that Phil suspected it from my spike of happiness after she said yes.

I looked down at her hands and saw that on her left ring finger, wasn't the ring I bought her, but a simple silver band. I smiled. I knew that she didn't think that everyone would approve, so she switched the rings out so that they wouldn't suspect anything. I also knew that as soon as I got the chance, I would put the ring I had gotten her on that finger instead of the simple silver band.

I don't get why we clicked so well, but we did. It was almost as if we were made for each other, but me being an atheist, I'm going with the soulmate theory. I looked up and saw that the mountains had receded far behind us, and we were entering the birch oak forest that would lead to the spruce forest that lead to our home. Zia was still sound asleep on my back.

I heard Zia's name said, and listened carefully to what was being said.

"-don't know if she's ready for that. I mean, she even told me that we were made for each other, but he has been obsessed with her even before she disappeared. It feels like he doesn't even recognize that he as a family anymore." Tubbo said. I sighed.

I had noticed that over the years, Tubbo and Ranboo had been getting distanced, and in all honestly, I could see that Ranboo was in the wrong. He was obsessed with getting her back, and it had cost him a lot of things. His husband included. I had told him this too. But he isn't listening to anyone. And it's going to ruin Tubbo.

I looked ahead and saw spruce trees starting to pop up everywhere. We were getting close to their house. I knew that Zia wanted to spend more time with them, but I was taking her back to my place, whether she liked it or not. We needed alone time. (Nothing dirty, you horny ass kids)

We arrived back at Phil's house right as the sun hit the horizon. Zia was still soundly asleep, pressed up against my back. I slowed Carl down and watched the others unpack. They all said their goodbyes, and I had to promise to bring her back tomorrow morning so they could all talk to her.

I directed Carl north of here, and we were off again, the moon rising steadily behind us. I felt her arms tighten around me, and she shifted on my back. I heard her groan quietly, and I found myself smiling at it. The things this girl can do to me are amazing, and she doesn't even know it.

"...Techno?" I heard her muffled voice call out. I hummed in response, and tilted my head so she knew I was listening.

"Where are we?"

"We are on our way towards my home. Where you're going to be staying from now until the day death do us part." I said, referencing to marriage vows. I knew that my ears were probably burning red right now, but I didn't care. I meant what I said to her.

"You're an idiot..." She said, burring her head into the back of my shoulder. I knew that she was embarrassed, and I found it hilarious. We rode in silence for a few more minutes, before I saw a distance light. I knew that it was my cabin.

Carl started to speed up just a hair, and Zia tightened her hold on me. I smiled at that, and watched as the cabin that I had built come into view. Steve was already there, playing in the snow like the cub he is.

I dismounted Carl, and helped Zia down as well. Her wolves appeared and her hawk perched itself on my roof. I grabbed her hand, and lead her up to the door. Carl had returned to his horse family, and Steve was eagerly awaiting to get in.

I opened the door, and Steve barreled past us. We both laughed, and walked in ourselves. She called her dogs in, and her hawk came in as well. Zia stared in awe at my humble abode that I built not to long ago.

"So... what do you think?" I asked, wrapping my arms around her from behind. She put her hands on mine, still looking around the cabin.

"It's amazing. You built this?" She sounded shocked. I smiled, and walked  out from behind her. She followed me as I walked up to my room- well, our room now. I opened the door, and set our bags down at the end of the bed, before plopping on it myself, not bothering to change. I did take my boots off though.

Zia sat down on the side I wasn't on, and took her boots off, before laying down next to me on the covered, not bothering to change either. Though she did take off her terrifying mask. That thing gave me the creeps!

I wrapped my arms around her and brought her closer to me. She snuggled into my chest, and soon enough, I heard her heart rate slow down and her breaths get deeper. I smiled. She fell asleep already.

I looked down at her peaceful face, glad that I could have her once more. Everything in that moment seemed perfect. Nobody to bother us. Nobody to take her away. Nobody to hunt us down.

But how long would that last?
