PART 24

Aeris was amazed the minute they reached his brother's pack lands, from the luxurious architecture to the never-ending countryside, it was beautiful and he wondered how his brothers could ever keep this from him.

Clutching onto Chase like a lifeline they made their entrance, various members had stopped what they were doing and just stared.

The thing was, they knew of Aeris but they had never seen the youngest brother, Aaron was so protective of him they never even thought they would.

Derrick and Darren walked nearby, nodding their heads in respect as members did the same, though that didn't stop the whispers that rose up and dissipated into the cold winter air.

"We've prepared a room for you two at the packhouse," Aaron spoke, his deep voice cutting Aeris out of his trance.

"I would have put you in our house but Damien has already been there so I didn't believe that would be a good idea..." he trailed off, not wanting to remind his younger brother of that rather traumatizing event.

"The plan is that you two will stay in the main packhouse with me, Darren, and Derrick, we have fortified it more in preparation for your arrival. We also have warriors standing on call and watching all comings and goings amongst the pack," he paused with a sigh, before continuing, "Aeris I know this is all new for you but I promise, these people only have love for you. They've known of you since you were young and it is about time you be introduced."

It wasn't long before Darren and Derrick had taken them through a tour of the entire packhouse, most rooms were empty save for the three that Aaron, Darren, and Derrick were currently staying in. That in and of itself already put the brunette at ease, knowing that his family was all around him and here to protect him.

Chase and Aeris were quick to settle into their own room and the moment they stepped in, he knew his brothers had designed it just for him. From the white billowing canopies to the eloquent lace framing each and every edge, Aeris was in awe as he shuffled his small feet forward admiring his brother's work.

His favorite stuffies from their old home littered the bed, the boy running and jumping at them in pure joy. Pulling his favorite shaggy-haired stuffed pup to his chest, he looked all around him once more.

Though the room was mainly catered to him, he noticed a few more masculine touches here and there. Starting with the attached walk-in closet with a side for him, stocked with clothes, toiletries, and other necessities set aside for his mate, stocked with everything the alpha would need.

"They really spared no expense," said the Alpha as he spoke from the other side of the room as he still tried to take in everything.

It was nice but it made him homesick, he wanted his mate to be in his home, dazzled by his adoration. There would be time for that, he knew it, he had just hoped he could end all this sooner. If not for his own sake, for Aeris.

Scooping the small brunette up and into his arms he pulled him into his mighty embrace, gently pushing a curl from his pale forehead, "Are you alright Ari?"

The boy was quick to respond with an enthusiastic smile as he gazed back at his blonde counterpart, "Of course, we're finally safe."

Chase smiled at this, his wolf finally settling down but only just the slightest. They still had a lot of work to do.

The two were fast asleep as the sun began to fall on the land, tired from their journey as they fell into the deepest abyss.
