PART 4
"Will you be alright?" Derrick asked the younger male, his hand on his shoulder as he leaned down a bit. Darren a few feet away, his eyes full of concern as they bored into the boy. As if searching for something, but Aeris didn't know what.
He nodded, holding up his nylon gym bag, his wet gym clothes inside the bright colored bag. "I'm fine," he assured them with a smile as he tried not to worry his brothers.
Though they always seemed to do that themselves.
"Okay well, will you be okay walking home? We have to go for a jog and probably won't be back until late..." Derek explained, scratching the back of his neck. Their weariness about letting their kid brother walk home alone, evident.
"I promise I'll be fine," he sighed, a bit exasperated of their over protective behavior, but knew it was only out of love.
"Well, then we'll leave you to it," Darren suddenly announced as he pushed up off of the locker, planting a quick kiss on the boy's forehead as Derek joined him and they left.
—
The sky was dark as the boy walked across the pavement, his music in his ears as he sung along softly to the lyrics. Letting the music soothe his nerves since this was one of the first times he had walked anywhere alone, well at least without his brothers.
The sky began to open up, droplets beginning to hit the concrete as the boy hissed and covered his head with his folder. He didn't enjoy the rain and he definitely didn't enjoy being wet.
As the rain began to come down harder, it pelted Aeris through his thin hoodie as he felt the air grow colder. The clouds a lot darker and more intimidating than before.
Resisting the urge to sprint home, Aeris picked up his pace in hopes of not getting too wet.
That was until the horn of a car sounded off, startling him as he looked around trying to figure out where it came from.
An expensive looking black sports car pulling up next to him, honking one more time before the window rolled down, and Aeris saw the blonde from earlier, his savior.
He blushed then looked around and made sure there was no one else around that he could've been honking at then made his way over. His folder still on his head as he prevented the water from wetting his head and hair.
"Do you need a ride?" The male called out of the window as he rolled it down, smiling at the younger as he took in his wet and distressed appearance. A welcoming smile on his face as he stopped the car completely, Aeris blushing a bit at his rather generous offer.
