PART 14

The knock-on his door was quiet, Chase had almost missed it completely as not for the timid call of his name accompanying it, "Chase..."

Grunting, the male sat up, blonde strands falling into his eyes and brushing against the tops of his cheeks. Glancing at the clock he groaned once more, it was 2:45 am.

Who could it be at this hour?

And that's when he smelled it.

The most delectable scent, it's aroma seeping under the door and wafting around his room, wrapping him in its essence.

Aeris.

He jumped out of bed and lunged for the bedroom door, opening it to reveal a certain flushed, disheveled brunette. His emerald eyes on the floor, tracing its patterns, as he shifted back and forth.

"I have a question..." he spoke, voice so quaint, the blonde almost missed it.

Furrowing his brows just the slightest bit, the male leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms across of his bare chest, "Sure, you can ask me anything."

"I... I had a nightmare," he bit his lip, pulling at the sleeve of his pajamas, "There was a man."

Raising a brow, Chase listened intently.

"He said his name was Damien," he muttered, the boy finally looking up.

Chase's eyes blown wide, he had thought that Aeris had forgotten that night, but somehow it had made its way back into his subconscious. He blamed himself for it, he should've been there sooner then the boy wouldn't even have to suffer that misfortune.

"Come inside for a moment," Chase replied, the male walking back into his bedroom, expecting Aeris to follow.

Which he eventually did after a couple of moments of contemplation.

The boy closing the door behind him softly as he made his way to the bed and took a seat.

Chase at the window, watching as the moonlight illuminated the pack property and the rolling hills beyond.

"Damien is my cousin," he paused, hearing a quiet gasp in response.

"My past reincarnations were cordial with him,
friends even, but a millennia ago he killed
my mate," he spoke, the memory old but still rather vivid in his mind.

"After that, I could never forgive him so we've been somewhat estranged, but that was until he found you..." he gritted through his teeth, turning away from the window.

"And marked you, knowing that if he did that it would be hard for me to do the same," he continued, searching the boy's eyes for any reaction but at the moment all he was getting was intrigue.

Surely he didn't remember how any of it had happened.

"When I got to your house, it was too late and we fought," he sighed, taking a seat next to Aeris.

"All in all, his powerful venom has erased your memory of that specific evening but that is the reason why you are here with me," he spoke, grabbing the boys hand, "I want to do everything in my power to protect you from my cousin... he has been alive for eons and is a rather despicable and ruthless leader."

"I doubt that he will not try and fight for what he thinks is his so I want you to be prepared for when that happens," Chase stated, looking into Aeris' big, beautiful eyes of jade.

"What I am to you... is the same thing I am to him?" Aeris asked, the male trying to get a grasp on the concept.

Darren had told him that everyone only has one mate. How could he have two?

"Technically,"  the blonde agreed, scowling at the thought, "Yes he is."

Aeris gasped at this, anxiety seeping in as he started to understand all of what he was told. Though the concept was still truly foreign and seemingly outrageous, how could he forget something so important?

"The appalling things he has done in the past are only telling of what he might do in the future and I will not subject you to that," he declared, caressing the boy's cheek gently.

"I have lost one mate already and I will not lose another," the blonde declared, his eyes scanning the brunettes for a moment.

"You weren't scared to come in here?" He asked, licking his lips at the thought of the smaller in his room.

Aeris blushed, reaching to cover his fiery red cheeks.

"You were," Chase smirked, scooting closer to the boy, dark eyes on him and nothing else.

Aeris shifting underneath the pressure, his breath quickening. Though that was enough to have Chase lunging at the smaller, his lips finding their way to his unblemished neck, sucking softly on the warm skin there as his wolf fought to come to the surface and mark him. Take him. Anything.

With that in mind, he pushed the brunette down on his mattress, the deep red satin sheets complimenting him wonderfully as Aeris fought to get back up.

Chase's full weight pressed down on his narrow wrists, as he continued to ravage his neck, his other hand grabbing the boys thigh. Gently lifting that leg to rest against his shoulder.

"C-Chase..." Aeris warned, the boy fidgeting around underneath him, trying to break free of his hold.

"Aeris you don't understand, I need this," he replied rather absentmindedly, his free hand slipping under the boy's pajama top as he fell into somewhat of a trance. His hand feeling all along the soft skin there and the perky little bundles of nerves situated against his chest. The buds somewhat visible through the boy's thin T-shirt.

Aeris continued to squirm underneath him as Chase exposed his frail chest, the skin pale compared to his own tan complexion. His wild running wild as they admired their little mate, his cheeks red and his eyes glossy.

He was beautiful, everything about him was perfect.
