Chapter 27 | Passing by

It was the mourning to go see Erwin. We all got up and got ready and headed to the hospital. Entering the hospital we went into Erwin's room, he was in the hospital bed laying down With a bandage wrap covering his amputated arm. His face lighted up when he saw me walk through the door. "y/n how I missed you" he said putting one arm up as in for me to hug him. I hesitated but I went in for the hug. "I missed you too, I'm sorry it took so long."

Don't worry darling, your here now. now tell me everything that's been going on back there don't miss out on any detail.

I felt kind of selfish talking about myself after everything he just went threw but I figured it would take his mind off everything.

We stood 30-40 minutes with Erwin until we had to leave. I felt so much better seeing Erwin.

It's been 2 weeks since I've been here. Levi had to leave for work, I stood behind to help around with Erwin since he's back home.

 Me and jean have been on the phone constantly. it's nice of him to keep me company. Although I miss work and being around everyone, and seeing Eren through the halls. I enjoy it here. I'm not sure when I'll ever see Erwin again if I go back so I wanna spend as much time here as possible and enjoy every moment.

It's now been a month since I've been here.  Erwin is getting much better, he gets depressed sometimes so I try my best to cheer him up. I know he's trying to keep a smile on for me but I can tell him losing an arm took a lot out of him. so today I decided to take him to one of our favorite spots when I was a kid. It was a bridge over a lake. He always would take me there after getting ice cream.

Me and Erwin headed to a small ice cream shop. He got his usually mint chocolate chip and I got my favorite ice cream as well. We headed to the bridge and stood watching the lake and talking about old memories. 

It's been another month, which made it 2 months since iv'e been here Levi called me back to work and booked me a flight for tonight to come back. So I spent the whole day with Erwin and hange in town there was a bunch of little shops around. 

We stopped at this little bakery "y/n grab us coffee from the coffee shop across from here" Erwin said. Nodding my head yes, I walk over to the coffee shop and wait in line, Erwin wanted a black coffee and hange wanted there's with extra sugar. After ordering I wait by the pick up for our coffee.

"y/n? Well I'll be damned"

Looking over I see a tall black-haired boy

"Long time no see" he continued talking.

Oh my Bertolt what a surprise, I say.

I could say the same, last I heard you left here and worked at a coffee shop.

Yeah, I still do. I came back to visit. In fact, my plane leaves tonight. As I said that My order was ready and I grabbed the drink carrier.

"If I knew you were in town I would have visited you sooner. Do you mind sitting down and catching up for a bit?" he asked.

Uh yeah let me just give these drinks back to hange and Erwin and I'll be right back.

"I'll save us a table outside," he said with a soft smile.

Walking back to the bakery I ask Erwin if it was okay if I talked with an old friend for a bit. He nodded his approval. I went back my way to Bertolt, he was sitting down at a table but got up once he saw me arrive "hey" he said as he opened his arms for a hug, I went into the hug. he then pulled out my chair, and sat back down once I did.
