Chapter 30 | The Event

Waking up I start getting ready for work. the makeup barely did anything to cover it up, I just left a bandaid on it, if anyone asked it was from my cat. "Bye Sasha see you at work". Heading to work I start my shift.

During the afternoon it was quiet and slow. me and Sasha were talking about how much food she's gonna stuff into her purse at the event. Hearing the bell ring we turn our head, to see Eren and jean walk through the door.

"Hello welcome to midnights".

You didn't have to greet us, Eren said.

It's part of their job eren. anyway, just a cold brew and croissant for me and Sasha don't eat it. Jean said.

Just a normal black coffee, eren said. 

"I'm here!" we heard screaming from the door. Looking over it was hange.

"Hange! You made it."

Of course, I did. "Your tall has Levi seen you?" hange said looking up at jean.

Yeah, he's not a fan of mine. Jean said scratching the back of his neck.

Levi isn't a fan of anyone, don't let it get to you. 

After intruding everyone to each other. Eren and Jean had their coffees to go and hange went to Levi's house to settle in since they were staying with Levi.

Time has passed and it was the day of the event. I haven't heard from Eren, I started to think he forgot. Getting a text from Levi it said "be ready by 6:30 pm." it was currently 3 pm so I only had 3 hours to get ready. I can't worry about Eren right now. I get in the shower and clean up. Stepping out I leave the towel around me and start blow-drying my hair.

After my hair was done I straighten it and start my makeup, I did a soft eyeshadow look with some eyeliner. I had a matte red lipstick on but I put on some of my cherry lip balm to make it look glossy. all that was left was the dress. walking over to the closet I get my dress and slowly slip it over me. Putting on a black pair of high heels. I look at myself in the mirror and think how Levi is gonna be proud.

"Wait something missing, what am I missing?"

Looking at myself for the missing piece "I need a necklace that's it, but what kind".

Looking all over in my jewelry I can't find anything, I was about to go to Sasha and ask if I can use one of hers but I noticed a small red box sitting on my dresser. "Where have I seen that before".

Walking to my dresser I grab the box and see "from Erwin". "Oh that's right Erwin gave this to Levi to give to me I must have forgotten".

Opening the box it was a diamond from my mom's wedding ring made into a necklace.

"wow thank you, Erwin". A teardrop wanted to fall from my eye but I quickly stopped it for I won't mess up my makeup.  I take out the necklace and put it on me.

"y/n you ready" Sasha came into my room fully dressed applying her earrings on.

"Yeah, let me just get my bag". 

"You look amazing by the way". she said 

Thanks, so do you. Where's Niccolo?

He's in the kitchen, where's Eren?.

No idea. But let's go before Levi takes off without us.

"Wait Eren's not going?"

It doesn't look like it, I haven't heard from him.

What about, jean?.

I don't wanna bother him. Don't worry I don't need a plus-one. come on let's go.
