[Jae Lim]

When I left Granny and came back to where everyone else was chilling, I noticed that they were almost done prepping everything for tonight's hot pot. Those two monkeys must have done something useful and told them what I had planned for dinner. That gave me some hope for the three brain cells I could hear rattling in their head every time they moved. I had walked over into the kitchen, ready to help out, but hands wrapped around my waist before I could get far. The corner of my lips tugged down at the contact.

"I know you aren't trying to go into the kitchen with one working arm," I heard Xunan's sass from a mile away.

I rolled my eyes and looked over my right shoulder to give him a dead stare. "No. I was going into the kitchen to look at the furnishing." He was quiet for a moment as if he were contemplating on whether or not my answer was legitimate. I raised my right arm to push his arm away from my body. "What else do you think I would go into the kitchen for, you brain-dead monkey?"

His bottom lip stuck out for a moment. His dumb-looking pout turned into a frown of disapproval. "You can't go into the kitchen like that. They've got it down. All you need to do is sit here and rest. You're hurt."

I couldn't believe them. I wasn't crippled. I had gotten a flesh wound that just happened to be caused by a gun. If I didn't start exercising and practicing like usual, I would be all sorts of weird. There was only one occurrence in which I was out of commission so badly that I physically could not stand to go on about my routine.

I needed to spar with someone. It had been too long. There was too much tension within my body that I needed to get out. I felt like I was thirsting for blood, thirsting to just pummel someone's face in. Preferably, it would be someone with a rather large ego—they were my favorite to beat down. Something about putting them down was just...so satisfying.

I shrugged off the hands that Xunan placed on my shoulders to guide me over to the living room. "I'm not an old woman like Granny over there. I can handle myself."

He didn't put his hands on me again, but he did hover over me as I walked over to the couch. He didn't make the distance between us any greater and I was a little peeved. I was one to enjoy my privacy—my space.

"Could you sit any closer?" Sarcasm dripped from my lips as I turned to look at him.

He grinned and moved even closer before I could say anything else. "I can get a lot closer than just this." He motioned at the space between us that kept getting smaller and smaller.

I couldn't deal with him anymore. Before he could stop me, I shot up from the couch and sped all the way to the counter separating the open space from the kitchen. Qi was in the kitchen helping them, but I couldn't take any more of Xunan's creepiness.

"Did you guys see the bag with the phones in them?" I leaned up against the counter in front of Jihoon. "I bought like five or six of them, I can't remember."

"I saw them. I think Guanlin has them at the moment though. Can't remember how many I saw in the bag." Jihoon spoke without even looking up from the vegetables he was cutting up. "What did Auntie say in the other room?"

"Oh, she just looked over my other stuff. The scars were old though, so she couldn't really do anything," I said casually as if Qi wasn't standing two feet away cutting meat.

Jihoon hummed. "What're you doing over here? You could go watch TV or something. Take some time to relax. You're going to need it if you're going to deal with those guys."

I groaned. "I want to fight so badly. My body feels fucked beyond control since I haven't done anything for days. Fuck In Jii and fuck this dumb arm."
