It was 5pm when Karl finally woke up.

Another Saturday wasted.

He sighed, wiping the sleep from his eyes. He scanned his room, his eyes landing on his overflowing laundry basket. Karl couldn't remember the last time he'd washed his clothes.

"Finally gonna do something about that?" George read Karl's mind.

"Yeah," Karl pulled himself out of bed,"did you have sex with Dream?"

"WHAT!" George acted like it was a ridiculous thing to ask, "No, NO, we did not have sex." George's cheeks were bright red.
"We just cuddled..." George mumbles, a lot less assertively than his previous two statements.

"Yeah, I figured," Karl teased, laughing to himself at George's reaction.

"He would've had sex with me if I had asked, I just didn't ask."

Karl just laughed.

"He would've!" George protested, "Monday before class, we're going to breakfast, me and Dream, you and Sapnap should come, it'll be--"

"No," Karl interrupted, "If Sapnap's there, I'm not, maybe he could bring Quackity."

"Why would Sapnap bring Alex?"

Karl ignored George's question.

"Nick is not my friend," Karl huffed, picking up his hamper,"Why would I want to hang out with him?"

"Sorry, didn't know you were in such a bitchy mood." George raised his eyebrows turning back to his homework.

Karl didn't bother responding, he just closed the door. He didn't know why he'd been so mean to George and he regretted it. Nevertheless, he was far too stubborn to go back inside. He sighed and began making his way to the laundry room. He heaved, lugging his dirty clothes along with him.

The laundry room was in his dorm building thankfully. He felt so terrible for the people who had to take their stuff to another building.

On a normal day, doing laundry would make Karl pull his hair out. Today, it was what he needed.

He sat his basket down on the floor next to his machine, and began sorting the clothes. He made three piles dark, white, and colored. Organizing stuff was his favorite coping mechanism. It allowed him to not think, and getting to look at the end result was so calming. He'd always loved a nice organized bookshelf.

He needed an empty mind, and subconsciously doing laundry offered the perfect opportunity for that. His brain fogged, releasing the stress and tension from Friday and Saturday's events.

He was completely zoned out, so zoned out he didn't notice someone come up beside him and start doing their own laundry.

"You messed that one up," Karl watched a hand break his line of vision, pointing to a black sock he'd accidentally put in the white pile.

Without thinking he moved it to the correct one. It took him a few seconds to fully snap out of his trance and realize there was someone speaking to him. He meant to thank the person for correcting his mistake, but when he turned around he was met with Sapnap's smirk.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Karl came across a lot more blunt than he intended to.

"I can't do my laundry?" Sapnap sassed.

Karl had no patience for his attitude today. He'd endured entirely too much stress on behalf of Sapnap in the past 24 hours.

"Don't patronize me," Karl snapped, stepping back, away from Sapnap.

Nick's eyebrows furrowed together, as if Karl had no reason to be angry with him.

"And don't give me that look either," Karl's voice grew louder,"I'm sick of you being so fucking pretenious. You aren't above it all, and yesterday only proved that, Nick."

The way Karl hissed his name stung Sapnap.

"You're mad about that?" Sapnap raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, it was a pretty dick move," Karl was still practically yelling.

"Why are you mad at me for hooking up with Alex? Are you jealous? I saw him kiss you at the party, that was a joke, you know that right? You really think Quackity would kiss you? C'mon Karl, I know you aren't that naive," Sapnap mocked.

"Oh fuck you," Karl rolled his eyes, "I saw you storm out of the party. Why were you so pissed Sapnap? Huh? I think we know who the jealous one is cause it isn't me. Revenge sex doesn't look good on you, Nick."

Karl leaned down to start putting his clothes in the washing machine. He was done arguing.

He hadn't thought about the idea that Sapnap might have been jealous of Alex, until just then. He just said it. In this head it was a dumb theory, Sapnap didn't like Karl. Karl knew he had definitely overreacted, and Sapnap was right. Karl had no reason to be mad at him for hooking up with Alex. However, the theory didn't gloss over Sapnap like he thought it would.

All of a sudden Karl's back was pressed against the wall. Sapnap stood in front of him, pinning his hands above his head. Karl went to protest, but Sapnap used his free hand to cover his mouth.

"You're actually oblivious aren't you?" Sapnap spoke softer now. "You could have anyone you want, you know that? But you're too fucking stubborn to see it. I've just been trying to talk to you, all year Karl, but you're too busy kissing Clay's ass to notice."

Karl furrowed his eyebrows in an attempt to demonstrate his confusion.

"Don't patronize me," Sapnap said the same thing Karl had a few minutes earlier. Except now the tone had changed. Karl had never heard him speak so soft, he was used to the usual harsh rasp of his voice. But he didn't mind the change at all.

Their faces had subconsciously moved closer together. The points of their noses now lightly brush. Karl could feel the warmth of Sapnap's deep breath glossing his face.

Sapnap took his hand off his mouth, and before Karl had the chance to say anything their lips were pressed together.

Karl gasped at first, startled by the new contact. But he quickly let his eyelids flutter shut, sinking into the kiss, giving into the way Sapnap's lips commanded his mouth. Every harsh feeling he bore towards Sapnap disintegrate with each flick of his tongue.

The kiss dragged on, and Karl didn't mind. It wasn't until Karl whimpered, ever so slightly, that Sapnap seemed to be snapped back into reality. He disconnected their lips, and allowed Karl's arms to fall back by his side.

"Are you ok?" Karl asked, but Sapnap wouldn't even make eye contact with him, much less actually answer his question.

Karl's eyes followed him as he walked the short distance to the exit. His head spun, his mind running a hundred miles an hour. He took a second to catch his breath, and regain composure before walking back to the machine he'd been previously stationed at.

It was only then that he realized Sapnap hadn't even brought any laundry with him.
