Zero's POV
I've just been sitting around watching random stuff on tv while surrounded by a pile of unfrozen things I found in my freezer. After one pack unfreezes, I just go back to the fridge and get another one. My body still hurts like hell. I've been sitting quite still and uncomfortable for some hours now trying my best to not irritate it. My phone pinged, so I grabbed it to see who texted me.
You're not at school?
I saw a message from Benji.
No.
I texted back.
Why? Are you good?
Yes, I'm fine I just didn't feel like it.
So you're just going to abandon me in this hell hole all by myself. How dare you.
He texted back very dramatically as usual. I knew it was a joke so I just texted a yep back with the Shrugging shoulder emoji.

Benji's POV
Zero didn't come to school today which makes me kind of sad. We only have two periods together but at least I get to see him.
RIIING RIIING. I hear the sound of the school bell alerting its students with the knowledge that the school day is over. Usually, I would go to basketball practices with Zero after school, but since he didn't come today I don't feel like going either.
Maybe I should go surprise him at his house. I've gone to his house plenty of times unannounced so I'm sure he isn't going to mind. Usually, I walk to my house cause it's like 5 minutes away from my school but since I'm trying to go to Zero's house I will need to call an Uber or something.
I got out of the Uber and walked up to Zero's house. Once I got there I rang his doorbell and waited for him to open up.
"Open the door, please" I made a reference to a random tictok meme I saw.
"What the hell." he said as soon as he opened the door and saw that it was me.
"Surprise shawty." I answered as I noticed the confused expression on his face.
"What are you doing here don't you have practice." He moved out the way so that I could walk in.
"You do too but that didn't stop you from not coming. Besides I wanted to see if you were okay."
I entered his house and made my way to his living room as I saw that he was watching SpongeBob on the tv.
"Why do you have all these frozen veggies on your couch weirdo."
He quickly came in and grabbed them as he took them back to the fridge. I noticed something weird about the way he was walking but I ignored it, assuming it was nothing.
"Were you watching this all day?" I asked him once he came back and sat down on the other couch.
"Yea." That was a brief answer, I noticed. Weird.
He seems off today, I mean lately, he's been into going to school cause of the distraction I assume and he usually has a lot more things to say, especially when I call him names like weirdo.
"Are you okay Zero?" I asked him as I start to get concerned.
"Yes, dude I'm fine. What's up with everyone always thinking something is wrong, can a guy just be alone for once. Dang." He snapped.
"Sorry dude I just wanted to see if you were fine that's all, but if you wanna be alone I can give you your space, cause that's fine too." I said feeling kind of disappointed but still trying to be understanding.
