Zero POV

I was awakened from the best sleep I've had in a very long time by the most annoying sound to ever be created. The alarm clock. You know that stupid ringing sound that iPhone use as the default alarm sound, yeah that one. I'm pretty sure that whoever made that sound is a bloody psychopath, and no, not a high-functioning sociopath like sherlock holmes.

"No, I don't want to get up." Benji groaned in his raspy morning voice. It was deeper than normal and that made it ten times hotter.

He reached for his phone and turned off the alarm, and then he turned towards me to cuddle me tighter than before. The wonderful memories of last night came flooding back like a tsunami, and I couldn't help but smile.

He likes me. Benji likes me. All those times I tried to hide my feelings from him he was probably doing the same. Ugh, we could have been cuddling, and kissing all those times.

He kissed my forehead and I smiled. "I have to go." He said, his morning voice still present and luring.

"Why?" I asked, sounding whiny.

"I have to get ready for the funeral, I'll meet you at the church."

"Oh, yeah. I forgot about that." You stupid idiot how could you forget about that. You're a terrible person.

"I'll be back before you even know it, okay." He spoke trying to comfort me.

"Okay."

He kissed me on the forehead again and then unwrapped his arms around me and got off my bed. I sat up to watch him go into the bathroom just to come out with the clothes he had on yesterday.

"You know you can wear any of my other clothes right?"

"Yeah but I'm going home to change anyways so that would be a waste of clean clothes." He put my clothes in the hamper and then walked to my nightstand and unplugged his phone. "Oh, shit my dad's already outside." He said as he saw a text message from his dad. He looks at me with those beautiful eyes and pulled me closer for a kiss. His lips meet with mine reminding me of how amazing it felt. How happy it makes me. He pulled away and says, "Don't worry too much, okay. I'll be in the church waiting for you as soon as you get there." He ruffled my hair and then walked out my door.

He's kissing me like we're a couple. Oh my God, he's kissing me like we're a couple. I jumped out of bed feeling so much lighter and happier. My best friend likes me as I do him. I don't have to hide it anymore, I can finally breathe when I'm around him. I made my way downstairs to make myself some breakfast.

Usually, I don't eat breakfast, and my eating habits have been really bad since the accident because my appetite has just been nonexistent but today I feel happy so I'm gonna eat something. I walked to the cabinets and grabbed a bowl, a spoon, and captain crunch the ones with berries of course. I then went into the fridge to get some milk and poured myself a bowl of cereal. Cereal before milk, of course, I might be eating cereals but I'm not a serial killer.

As I was eating my cereal and scrolling through my phone, my stepdad came into the kitchen. I could tell that he was having a rough time. His eyes were red and puffy. He had very dark under-eye bags that showcase how little he sleeps. He was already halfway dressed for the funeral cause he had on his black suit pants, belt, and his white undershirt already tucked in.

"Good morning dad." I said as I watched him pour himself a cup of coffee. He didn't add anything to it and just walked out of the kitchen without saying a word to me. He probably didn't hear me.

He heard you, idiot he just doesn't love you anymore.

I pushed that thought out of my head as I finished my cereal, rinsed my bowl, and walked back up the stairs to my room. I laid back in my bed, staring at my spinning fan. I probably shouldn't have done that because before I knew it my stepdad was barging into my room infuriated.
