A/N: I am so sorry for last chapter being a horrible thing. I was so drained from the last three chapters before that, I couldn't write anything without feeling it was bad.

Chapter 27: Jealousy & Conversations

John

John knew something was off with Irene Adler, when she deduced his state.

She hadn't done it like Sherlock, who did it carelessly, like he didn't even mean to and it just happened. No, she seemed like she knew exactly what she was doing, like everything she said was delibarate and rehearsed.

Still amazing, but in weirder and scarier way.

Besides, he knew she was exactly the type of person Sherlock would fall heads over heels for. Like Moriarty, but he was too psychotic for anyone remotely sane to bear. This made her troublesome.

"Uhm, let's go, Sherlock?" John tugged at Sherlock's hand, bringing Sherlock back to reality.

"Err... yah," Sherlock said.

"So, do you like her?" Molly asked the two.

"Well... she's something, alright," John said, unsure if he should admit that he didn't trust her.

"What school did she come from?" Sherlock asked.

"She was home schooled by college professors because she was too smart," Lestrade said. "Just like you, Sherlock. Except you went to the LondonAcademy of the Special."

"I was supposed to be homeschooled as well, but my parents insisted I go to the Academy so I could develop my social skills - which are still useless and undeveloped."

"Hahah," John said sarcastically. "If your social skills were that useless, you wouldn't have us."

"Amen!" Lestrade said.

"Yes!" Molly said at the same time.

They looked at each other smiling, which made John suspect that there was something going on between them.

"Hey, Molly?" Sherlock said, not looking at her.

"Yes, Sherlock?" Molly didn't look at him either, still smiling at Lestrade.

"How could you settle with Lestrade?" He said.

Molly and Lestrade looked at Sherlock, outraged and amused.

"You finally deduced in public! And very loudly too..." Molly looked at the people around them, wolf whistling and clapping.

"You finally got on!" Lestrade's partner in crime, Hanna Quill came running at him and hugged him and hugged Molly too who was her partner in lab.

"Well, it was going on for two weeks," Molly admitted, looking down.

"Don't be embarrassed about it!" John said, spinning her around. "You guys finally came out!"

"Yes. Nice way to say it, John." Sherlock smiled at him, making John's heart pump faster.

"Uhm... let's go guys!" Hanna dragged the two new couples away to their table, talking very happily to them.

"I'm not hungry," John announced.

"Me neither," Sherlock replied.

"Want to go to the library?" John suggested.

"I would be delighted, John Watson," Sherlock said. "And I would like to talk to you about some things..."

John's heart accelerated. "Really? About what?"

"Moriarty." John's face fell.

"And something else too." They arrived at the library and the two walked to the end of the library, the part no one usually hang out in.

"I'm going to Russia, John," Sherlock looked at him sadly. "Mycroft found him there."

"What? I'll come with-"

"No! Exams are in- what?" Sherlock said angrily, his sorrowful expression disappearing. "Four weeks? I could be there longer!"

"Sherlock, I want to come. I want to help get that guy," John said, ignoring Sherlock's rage.

"You'll get killed," Sherlock said, his anger fading. "I don't want you to get hurt."

"I'm already hurt," John pointed at his leg.

"Exactly. I really don't want you to get killed by Moriarty. I don't want to risk your life."

"And I don't want you to die," John said.

"Me neither. I don't want to leave you," Sherlock said. "But hunting Moriarty down is more important."

That annoyed John. He got that Moriarty was a psychotic killer and had to be stopped, but it wasn't pleasant to be told bluntly that he was less important to the person he liked. Paired with his worry for Sherlock, it made him explode.

"Then you should stay and put your studies first instead of chasing some fucking psychopath!" John said. "I'm your friend and I don't fucking care if you're some genius or anything, but look at me in the eye and tell me you don't learn anything new in this school, in your classes! Tell me you don't have fun here with me! Tell me that your friends -including me- mean nothing to you!"

Sherlock stared at him, no expressions whatsoever on his face. Just like when John had met him for the first time John. "I don't learn anything new in this school, in my classes. I don't have fun with you. And friends-including you, they mean nothing to me. I don't care," He said coldly.

John stared at him furiously. Sherlock met his gaze, eyes blank and void of feelings. And suddenly, John stopped caring too. He was just too tired to care anymore. "Fine. You go to Russia and find Moriarty," John said in the same tone. "I don't give a shit about you, Sherlock."

"As do I, to you, Watson."

"Goodbye, Sherlock."

"I guess I won't have to tell you about that other thing, then. Goodbye, John."

John walked away, feeling no regret. Just somehow... heavier, maybe.

A/N: Oh God. Did I do that? Did I just make them break up (as friends)?????? I want to squish them together again!! I'm so sorry!!!!!!!!
