Chapter 8: All They Wanted Part 2

John

John was walking back to his dorm, when someone grabbed his arm and pulled him in a dorm.

"Hello, John." Sherlock walked back to his bed on the right side, not noticing that John's eyes were still watery from crying so much.

"Hi Sherlock." John croaked. His voice was sore and small. He didn't mind and just sat on Sherlock's bed.

"I need to te- are you okay, John?" Sherlock finally saw John's face and actually looked concerned for a moment.

"I'm fine. Just read a book." John held the book a bit more, feeling like the book could protect him, even if it had hurt him.

"What book?"

John looked at the cover. "All They Wanted."

Sherlock looked at him incredulously, before standing up and taking the book from his tight clutch.

Sherlock skimmed over the book and frowned when he saw the last page.

John remembered what was written in the last part:

Thomas jumped. That is all I can think of.

I don't think I can ever meet Thomas ever again. Never again. But I wish we could start again, maybe in the past or the future.

It was all we wanted.

"It's about love. How predictable," Sherlock said.

"Yah, so? You fall in love too. You like Lin," John protested, wiping away his tears. He felt silly now. Crying over fictional characters.

Sherlock faced him with a devious smile that scared John. Maybe the Sherlock he befriended was just acting.

"Oh no. I don't like Lin. I admire her, but I don't like her," Sherlock said. "I only went on that date to see if she was the murderer. She's not, but I know one of her friends is."

"Oh. Uhm... I better go. It's almost eleven." John brushed Sherlock off and exited of the room, feeling weirded out by the sociopath.

"Oh, and John?" John looked back at the boy, who had a faint smile on his face.

"Yes?" John asked.

"I'll keep the book for a while. It may be interesting," Sherlock picked the book up from the table and flipped to the prologue, "because you read it."

A/N: Another short dull chapter (aside from the small drama) but it's for the plot and the book! Just a small inspirational thing from a fantastic writer... BUT I DID NOT COPY THE IDEA LIKE NO THAT IS BAD THAT IS PAGIARISM NOPE THIS STORY IS DIFFERENT but the book has a fairly good plot into it.
