A/N: Listen to the music I put! They may seem useless but sometimes (like now) they're important.
Chapter 14: Rumors from the Devil and the Angel
Sherlock
"Hi Sherlock."
"Charles." Sherlock nodded at his roommate before setting his things down on his desk.
"So, you and John reconciled?" Charles asked.
"That's only for me and John to know. Now, please be quiet, I need to do things." Sherlock turned away from him and fixed his things in the manner of his liking; messy, but understandable.
Then Sherlock realised, whenever Charles was there around him, he would ask questions about John.
"Charles," Sherlock turned to his roommate with a questioning look on his face. "Why do you keep asking things about John?"
"Reasons." Charles voice was cool, but Sherlock sensed the worry behind it.
"Charles, tell the truth," Sherlock said.
Charles slumped. "I think it's best John would tell you himself. I don't want him angrier than before."
Sherlock glared at the boy and proceeded to go downstairs to meet John at the cafeteria.
Running down the stairs, he bumped into a boy who lowered his head.
"Sorry."
The Irish drawl caught Sherlock off guard and made him wonder.
"It's fine," Sherlock replied.
With the boy's head still down, he ran off to the direction he was going to, leaving Sherlock befuddled.
Sherlock looked back before shaking the strange feeling off. But it still remained in the corners of his mind.
"Hey Sherlock!" John was at the bottom of the stairs covered in mud from head to toe. It was raining and he had just come from Rugby practices.
"Don't the players take baths in the showers?" Sherlock wrinkled his nose at John who seemed impossible to touch.
"Shower rooms are broken for some reason. I'll take a shower in my dorm. Care to join?" Sherlock nodded and followed John to his room.
When they entered, John immediately took the laid out clothes from his bed and dismissed himself to the bathroom.
"I see both of you've been getting dirty," Joshua said, not looking up from his book.
"Shut up, Joshua. Am I dirty? No, I am not. I didn't know normal people had an
IQ this low," Sherlock said.
"Whatever." Joshua shifted to a more comfortable position, facing Sherlock upside down.
"You know, there's been rumors going 'round," Joshua said.
"What kind of rumors?" Sherlock suddenly thought of his ability to deduce and it scared him. For once in his life, he had friends. Good ones, and he didn't want to lose them. Maybe even Joshua.
"That you and John are dating," Joshua said slyly.
"What!?" Sherlock blushed madly, thinking who the actual hell was able to make that kind of rumors.
"Well, you guys are really close and have gone over the no homo relationship, so it could be," Joshua said. "But there's another, more serious thing I need to tell you.
They think you and John witnessed Lin's death." Sherlock didn't do anything, but kept his cool.
"Really? Why is that?" he asked.
"Well, a boy called Jim Moriarty." Sherlock blinked a couple of times at the name. Jim Moriarty. The boy who'd killed Lin. "He claims to have seen you on the stairs to the tower at the estimated time of death. So they're probably going to suspect you."
"But he has no proof," Sherlock quipped.
"That's true." Joshua turned away from Sherlock and continued reading his book.
The bathroom door flew open and John stepped out, wearing a blue shirt and black slacks. He was wiping his hair and staring at the floor, which was convenient for Sherlock, because he was staring.
He stared at John before looking away with a bored expression.
"Hey, you going out like that?" John asked Joshua.
"Yah." Joshua set the book down and put his shoes on.
"Hey Sherlock! You want to join us for dinner? It's only going to be Peter, Joshua, Lisa and I. I can introduce you to Lisa," John said.
"Why not? I have nothing to do anyways." Actually, Sherlock did have something to do. But he decided to let it go because John was going to be there and well... he looked... amazing.
A/N: Sorry it's so short! But you shall see some things that connect to the plot! AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE JOHNLOCK!
