Chapter 16

When I woke up, I noticed I was in my own bed, which is where I don't remember falling asleep. I slept so well and looked over to my clock which said 6:45am. I woke  up before my alarm. I felt awake and I felt good. I couldn't see Ashton anywhere and thought that he'd maybe gone home. I got in the shower and was listening to Greenday. I got out the shower and threw on my black ripped skinny jeans, white all stars and white blink 182 shirt. I noticed a piece of paper on my dressing table. I was from Ashton.

"Morning babe, gone for a run, I'll come by yours at 8 and drive you to school. Ashton x"

I felt warm inside and it scared me, the thought that Ashton might be going to Ohio state next fall and me going to California honestly scared the shit out of me. Because I felt mysef wanted  more, and I didn't want to fall in love with him, I couldn't.

There was a knock at the door and I heard Benji barking. I walked downstairs to open it.

"Alright alright get your shit together." I said to Benji before opening the door to reveal Ashton.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey." I replied smiling.

"Ready?" He asked me.

"Yeah." I said. "Let me just grab my bag." I said walking over to the kitchen counter and grabbing my bag off the side. I walked out the door closing it behind me. Ashton placed a small kiss on my cheeks and opened the car door for me. Could there really be a gentlemen side to Ashton or was it all a front? I got in the car and Ashton walked round the hood and got in the drivers seat. He started the engine which ones again produced shivers that declined down my spine.

"How did you sleep." He asked me in his sexy aussie voice.

"Good, I don't really remember how I got upstairs I thought I fell asleep on the couch ." I said half asking him if he knew.

"Yeah you did, I waited for the film to finish then carried you upstairs."  He said looking over to me for a small second.

"Thank you." I said to him. There was a moment of silence before I spoke again. "So where do you run?"  I asked him. Actually curious to know the answer.

"Um normally up to the park it's quiet in the mornings so I just do a couple  laps and then ran back to yours." He said not taking his eyes off the road.

"What time did you leave?"I asked him.

"Um around 5:30ish I think." He said like it was nothing.

"Wow, you do that every morning?" I asked him, sounding a little more shocked than I intended.

"Pretty much." He said laghing as he absorbed my shock.

The rest of the ride to school was pretty casual, although my anxiety continued to kick in the closer we got to school. We were arriving together, we hadn't told Luke and nws gts rounf our school in about 0.3 seconds.

As we drove up to the gates which were clearly marked with the words 'Cedar  highschool' on it my heart began to pound. Everyine was staring at us. Or where they just staring at me. Icy eyes piereced me, I felt as if I was some science project waiting to be disected by the famished eyes of society. The car came to a stop, uncomfortably close to the school gates.

"Couldn't you have park closer?" I said sarcastically to Ashton, mentally prepearing myself for the day.

"Oh sorry." He said awkwardly obviously not catching on to my sarcasm.

"It's fine." I replied reachng for the door handle.

"Wait." Ashton said quickly grabbing my forearm. "Are you sure you want to do this?2 He asked me sincerly. His lack of confidence only made mine grow, so I maganed to have some fun.
