My name is Samantha Clarke,  but everyone calls me Sam and I go to North Cedar High School, Cedar county in Iowa. I live with my Mom, Dad and my older brother Aaron. I'm 17 years old and i'm a Senior in high school. My brother is about to move out and go live with his girfriend Carly, so  guess i'll be an only child, my brother is 24 and him and Carly have been dating for about a year and a half now so they thought it was time they vought a place together. I get on pretty well with my brother so i'm not that happy about him moving away. My parents are both anthrepologists and so they travel alot which means i'll probably have the house to myself alot of the time, which is great for me. I also have a year old German Shepherd puppy which my brother got me for my birthday this year called Benji, like Benji madden from Good Charlotte

-First day back at school after summer vacation-

I woke up on september 6th at 7am, first day back at  school, yay. It wasn't that i didn't like school, it was just that i was enjoying the summer holidays way to much.  My brother had officially moved out and even though he was only a 20 minute drive away i was gonna mss him alot!

I got in the shower and was blaring Slipknot through the stereo. I didn't have to worry about waking up my parents because they had to leave town suddenly last night, something about the legend of the crystal skull, i dunno i kinda tune out whenever they talk about work. I was more in to sports  and music myself. I got out the shower and dried my hair aplying my makeup and grabbing the first thing that i saw in my closet, I didn't have alot of girlfriends, girls never really liked me, i just never really got on with them. I grew up being looked after by my brother alot of the time because my parents travelled alot. So whenever girls would go to the mall or anything,  I would normally stay at home with my brother and fix up his car, which was now mine, he gave it to me on my 17th birthday and i was so happy. A 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, I loved it and today was the first time any one at school would see it. Except for my bestfriend Connor, He was the first person to see it. So yeah me not having alot of girlfriends i didn't really care about my hair or what i wore or whether my shoes matched the tone of my skin, because honestly i thought it was all bullshit.

I realised i was a little late to leave, so i decided to skip breakfast and just stick with coffee, i knew this guy Harrison who worked and Starbucks and his hooks me up with drinks and stuff so i never have to worry about being late to school, but this morning i just  decided to stick with filter coffee and save myself the trouble of being late on my first day back to school. I fed Benji and then ran outside to my brand new (but not so new) shiny red mustang, wearing my red flannel shirt, black ripped skinny jeans rolled up at the bottom and new white vans i got for my birthday.  I started the car and headed to school.

When i arrived, i was greeted by stares towards my new baby (the car) and decided to embrace it. I put my shades on both to look cool and because it was actually really sunny outside and decided to have a little Zac Efron 17 Again moment. I got out the car and walked through the crowd until i spotted Connor, he was where he said he would meet me, and where we'd been meeting everyday for the past 5 years on the first day of school. The teachers knew well enough  now to put us together in almost everything, because we'd just be moody and withdrawn from the class if we weren't together. We were practically inseperable. It had been that way ever since we first met.

After standing outside for around 10 minutes, soaking up the glory i was receiving from my car the first bell rang, we went in to get our schedules from the front office and sure enough we were in most of the same classes together except History and English but that was only because Connor didn't take History or English. But all the other classes we were together in.

We made our way to calculus, whoever thought about giving us calculus on our first lesson back after the break was clearly deluded. Who would evne be that cruel. We shrugged it off and made our way into the class, it was final bell but our teacher wasn't there yet. So we just went to the back of the class and took the seat we fancied, we knew we'd have Mr Oakley and he really didn't care where you sat, he was the only thing that made calculus bareable. Connor and I weren't classed as "popular" but we weren't outcasts either, we just kinda went with the flow, it was better that way. We were invited to all the parties but if we didn't want to go we didn't have to, nothing was really expected of us. Which was how we liked it, we were just trying to survive high school, plus being popular looked like so much effort.
