For better or for worse.

Chapter 8

When Ashton and I arrived at Starbucks, we walked in and I saw Harrison wave at me from behind the counter. We went and stood in the line to order our drinks. We were about fourth in line when we saw Michael and Calum walk in, Ashton turned around quickly and tried not to look at them, we were still in our clothes from last night so we were easy to spot, and it wasn't long until they did just that.

"Michael don't, Michael." I heard Calum say to Michael in a shout whisper.

"Hey guys." Michael said completely ignoring Calum who just rolled him eyes at the fact Michael just completely blanked him. Ashton didn't look very pleased that they had spotted us. They came and stood with us in the queue but Ashton stayed silent.

"Hey Michael." I said I looked at Calum and he looked super uncomfortable. "Hi Calum." I said awkwardly, his reply was just as awkward.

"Hey." Well at least we got a word out.

"Great night, last night huh?" Michael said.

"Yeah." Calum and I both said together Ashton just stayed quiet mostly.

"I heard you passed out Sam, like nearer the end of the night." Michael said, I saw Ashton shoot him a glare.

"Yeah, apparently so." I said laughing a little at the end. Once it was our turn to order Ashton looked pretty pissed but I couldn't figure out why, maybe he didn't want to be seen with me.

"Hey Sam." Harrison said as I approached the counter. "Going somehwere." he said noticing how I was dressed.

"Actually coming from somewhere." I replied back.

"How've you been anyway, haven't seen you in a while?" He asked with a warm smile, Harrison was always happy.

"Yeah I've been good, you?" I asked him, Harrison wasn't a bad looking guy, he was tall and had light blonde hair a pretty good body from what I could tell and he wore square glasses, like the ones Matt Damon wore in Good Shepherd.

"Not too bad." He said smiling kindly, I always got on pretty well with Harrison. "So what can I get you?" He asked me after speaking for a few moments.

"I'll have a coffee, decaf." I said sighing slightly.

"Wow rough night huh?" He said chuckling a little.

"Just a bit." I replied sarcastically, but when i felt Ashton staring at me i dropped the sarcasm.

"What can I get you mate?" He said looking to Ashton.

"Just a water please man." He said curling the corners of his lips only for a small second before dropping them once again. I looked to Ashton to see why he only wanted water but he wasn't looking at me.

"Anything else?" Harrison said before telling us the price. I shook my head and smiled.

"Thats three dollars and forty three cents then please." I went to get out my card which i had put in the back of my phone case, before Ashton stopped me.

"It's fine I got it." Ashton said smiling at me for the first time since we walked in.

"Are you sure?" I asked hating it when people paid for me. He chckled to himself slightly.

"Sam, I'm sure i've got three dollars and forty three cence." I smiled up at him as he handed over the money. I grabbed my coffee and he grabbed his bottle of water and we went to sit down at a table in the very corner near the window.

"Are you ok?" I asked him as we sat down.

"Yeah fine, why?" He asked still not really smiling.

"It's just when Michael and Calum came in you looked pretty pissed." I asked him curious to now what he'd say.

"Well i mean, it's just I kind of just didn't really want anyone to find out at the minute i guess."  He said as he undid his water and took a sip. I did the same with my coffee and debated whether or not i should be offended.

"I'll be back in a second." He said as he got up to walk over to Michael and Calum who were already walking this way.

I could just see them talking but I had no idea what they were saying it was too loud. I wanted to know what they were saying.

Ashton P.O.V

I got up from where me and Sam where sitting.

"I'll be back in a second." I said as I got up to walk over to Michael and Calum who where already walking this way. I could feel Sam staring at me.

"Hey man." Calum said. "What's up?" I looked at them both not honestly knowing exactly what i was going to say.

"Um, look guys I don't want you to tell anyone from school about this, especially not Luke, you can't tell him I don't want anyone to know yet." I said as they listened intently.

"Dude what are you talking about." Michael said.

"You're so stupid Michael he doesn't want everyone to know he's on a date with Sam." I shot him a glare, this wasn't a date.

"Oh it's date." Michael said smiling and winking at me.

"No it's not a date were just hanging out, look just don't tell Luke ok."  I said to them getting pretty pissed off.

"Ok man whatever you say, we'll leave you to love birds alone." Michael said winking again, I didn't find it wvery funny. They walked out and waved at Sam as they left.

"By Sam." Michael said waving and walking out. Even Calum gave her a small wave. Which she returned. I walked back over to Sam and took my seat again.

Grace's P.O.V

"By Sam." Michael said as he and Calum walked out the restaurant, even Calum gave me a small wave, which i returned. Ashton was walking back over and took his seat opposite me again.

"What was that all about." I asked Ashton as he took another sip of his water.

"Oh I just asked them not to tell Luke." He said shrugging it off his shoulder abit.

"I hate to be the one to bring this up, but what are we gonna do about Luke?" I asked him not even knowing the answer myself. His face dropped and he furrowed his eyebrows.

"Well, really that's up to you." He said looking over t where my face was then back down to the table. I thought for a moment, not knowing what to do. I didn't want to hurt Luke because i did care about him, but there was just something about Ashton. Luke would be the safer, more responsible choice. I would always be happy with him and he'd alwasy treat me like i was th only girl in the world. But with Ashton comes danger and excitment and spontanaity, not knowing what the next day was going to bring,, and in that very moment in time i felt that's where my life was and I wasnted that kind of adventure in my life. But right now in this very moment, I had no idea. Ashton was staring at me examining every inch of my face. His eyes burning through mine, Damn he had nice eyes.

Ok I know this chapter was really quick and boring but i needed a filler, I swear I will make the next chapter more interesting.
