(A/N: Modern AU.)

"Hey! You're here!" A boy yells out loud, waving his hand in the air and running up to you. You were about to raise your hand lightly to wave back but then a tall blonde male goes in front of you, blocking that other person's way.

"Slow down. You might fall on top of this person you're trying to go to." The tall blonde says strictly, glaring at the boy who was innocently trying to greet you.

"You don't have to go that far for me, Dain." You say, chuckling as you forcefully lower his arm down. He then moves to the side, letting you move past him. You then walk up to the boy.

"Good Morning, Bennett!" You smile brightly, he then smiles back.

"Good Morning! Well, I guess he was kind of right to stop me... I am pretty unlucky." Bennett says, scratching the back of his head. You then took your hand and patted his head, smiling as to reassure him.

"It's okay. Dainsleif over here was just overprotective. Like he always was." You glare at Dainsleif who was standing at the side, he looks away, not admitting it. Bennett nods, seeing as though that might be the case. 

"I'll be going to class now! I'll meet you there! Bye!" Bennett says, waving his hands once again as he runs toward the school building. You sigh as you look at Dainsleif.

"You didn't have to do that, yknow." You say as you start walking towards the school building as well. He follows you, walking right beside you, standing tall and seemingly looking down on everyone around both of you.

"I wouldn't like to see you get hurt." He says, looking proud of it. You sigh in response. 

He has always been like this with you. Both of you have been friends for years. Technically, you both are considered as childhood friends. You first met him when you moved to your new house near the school. He was your neighbor and your parents wanted you to have friends, get familiar with the place and then you saw him. 

Both of you were just elementary school kids then so, naturally you got close to each other pretty easily. Well, he was a bit shy with you. He did also seem as though he wasn't that social. But since you were neighbors, he didn't have much of a choice. He couldn't ignore you at all, that is.
