CHAPTER 10

The next morning, all the members of the reality show set off in a van. Each person was sitting next to their partner, and as expected, Pandora and Chengxin weren't talking. Of course Pandora did know that she would soon have to talk to Chengxin because of Nikita's requests, but she was surely not starting immediately.

There was a lot of chatter in the van, and Chengxin was thankful for that because he could respond to other people rather than trying to force a conversation with Pandora all over again.

The van finally came to a stop and the members got out of it. Each person stood with their partner as they waited for the instruction to leave, while a van with the camera crew behind them a short moment later. They got off on a street near the building, it was quite busy but not too disturbing.

'So you guys are gonna go shopping with your company's credit card of course, and get housewarming gifts like we agreed yesterday. Be back by 12 o'clock pm.' the director advised. They had about 5 hours, which should have been enough time to find the perfect gift.

Every pair agreed and set off in different directions. Pandora caught sight of Nikita turning around to her and giving her a nervous thumbs up, as if to remind her what their mission was. Pandora forced a smile at her as Zhenyuan and Nikita left the scene together, being followed by a camera man.

Soon, everyone dispersed from the scene and it was only Chengxin and Pandora with their camera man. For the first time, Pandora noticed that Chengxin had his arms folded and was looking everywhere except at Pandora, he hadn't even said anything, maybe she was tiresome after all. Maybe she had managed to drain him.

'So what do you think is the perfect housewarming gift?' Pandora asked Chengxin.

He seemed surprised that she had talked to him. He turned his face to her. 'I don't know...a potted plant?'

'Don't you think that's too typical though? We should find something else interesting.' Pandora started to walk off from the scene to the nearby shops. 'Come on.'

Chengxin followed after her, not understanding how she was suddenly into the competition.

'We shouldn't get a typical gift, otherwise all the other teams will beat us.' she told him determinedly.

'You're right.' he was still feeling surprised. 'So what are you thinking?'

'I'm not sure yet.' Pandora stopped in front of a deco shop with a glass door. 'Wanna try in here?'

'Sure.' Chengxin agreed. Pandora and Chengxin walked inside with their camera man, trying to find the first place to look. Chengxin still wasn't quite sure what had happened, but he believed he was able to get to her with his charms. That must have been the probably explanation. He always believed he had such an effect on people, even though most of his bandmates disagreed.

'A chopping board?' Chengxin randomly grabbed a wooden chopping board from the shelf once they had made their way to it. 'Look, it's engraved.'

'Hmm I don't know,' Pandora answered cutely, while trying to figure out how she was going to be able to find out what Nikita asked her in that situation. It seemed so difficult to steer a story in that direction. 'You like cooking?'

'Not really but I do sometimes.'

'So you also like girls who can cook?' She thought that was a good way to go about it.

Chengxin was speechless for a moment before he decided to reply. 'I guess it's cool either way.' Chengxin returned the chopping board to the shelf.

'Okay let's find something else.' Pandora continued to move along the shelf. 'So you're that type of guy who doesn't have such strict expectations on girls?'
