"Friday, sweet Friday, you are finally here," I thought to myself as I started my morning run. This day was going to be a great day! I was feeling optimistic as I put on my uniform and got ready to go to school.

Oh boy, was I wrong. I got a strange feeling since Adam was nowhere to be seen. He must have been still feeling hurt that I wasn't going to the welcome party with him, but I didn't expect him to avoid me altogether. I first saw him at the cafeteria, where he was sitting with his usual group. I smiled and waved at him, but he only gave me a short serious look before turning back to his friends. Fine, even better, I thought to myself. Finally, he started to make things easier for me. I tried to concentrate on talking to my friends and not paying any attention to him.

The classes seemed to drag on forever since I was anticipating the party in the evening eagerly. I loved going out and socializing whenever I had a chance. My parents would let me go out on certain occasions, and if they knew my pack members would look after me. They knew anyone from our pack wouldn't let anything happen to me as I was the future Alpha, and many of them were also considered my good friends. I wouldn't go anywhere without them anyway, so there was nothing for my parents to worry about anyway.

After I came from school, Gina and Lara came over to get ready for the party. I didn't want to wear anything too serious or flashy, so I choose a simple tailored knee-length black dress. It wasn't too revealing in front, but the back was more open than usual, making the simple dress slightly different. Gina helped with my hair by making a beautiful French side-braid that revealed my neck and shoulders, usually covered by my loose hair. I applied some black mascara, a strawberry color lipstick, and just a touch of a slightly sweet but fresh scent. Black pumps, small black and gold purse, and I was done.

Johny picked us up with his dad's car, which was big enough to carry the eight of us that went together. We thought it was more fun if we all went as a group than individually or two by two.The previous day I called Johny and told him I wanted him by my side at the party at all times since it was my first party at the new school. Of course, I didn't tell him about my conversation with Adam, but he seemed fine with it. He was always looking after me anyway, and it was his job as my future Beta to keep me safe.

We arrived there a quarter to seven, just to get in in time and get a good spot at the sofas on the side. The party was supposed to be held at the school cafeteria, but since the broken windows weren't changed yet, the school hired a nearby club in town, which was way cooler anyway. I was super excited about everything that night, and as soon as we got there, I was busy greeting everyone and mingling around in the room.

I was disappointed when I hadn't sensed Adam around. Did he change his mind about coming because of me? I really hoped that wasn't the case since I craved to see him despite all my thoughts about us this past five days since I had met him.

As introduction, teachers made us juniors come on stage and say a few sentences about ourselves. It was super corny, but I guess it was a good start to a party since everyone started chatting happily after that. We had few school bands play for us, and it was really cool to listen to different styles of music they made. The highlight of the evening was the 80's hair metal cover band. They were really nervous, but they still played really well, so everyone either laughed or admired them. Either way, they surely made a strong impression on all of us.

People from all groups talked to each other, dancing, mingling, and some even secretly drinking alcohol, mixing it in their drinks. There were some people from Adam's pack, but he and his closest friends weren't there. I was just about to give up on him when I noticed his scent.
