That morning Adam woke me up before the sunrise and told me he had to go. He had to go home to get his school uniform and a school bag. He also told me to close my window after he left, even if I thought it didn't matter at that time anymore as it was almost bright outside.

I pulled him back for the one last kiss before he climbed out through my window. I knew he must have been so tired after the trip they made with his dad. I was looking forward to the day when we could finally live together and sleep in the same bed every night.

My dad said we had to wait until I was eighteen, but I was hoping to push for it next summer after Adam takes his title, and I will be only a few months short of my eighteenth birthday. I knew I was young, but we were just inseparable, and I knew we will stay together forever anyway since we were mates.

When I got to school, Adam was already waiting for me at the usual bench. He looked tired, but he still managed to smile at me. "Hey, stranger," I said and smiled back. He pulled me towards him into an embrace and a kiss.

"Adam, today we really need to talk. I have a few things that really can't wait," I told him while pulling away to look at him. "Sure, what is it?" he said more seriously now. "It might take some time to tell you everything, so I don't want to do it now. Can we talk after school behind the tennis courts?"

I thought it might be a better idea to take some time for this. I was also aware Adam might get upset about the talk with Gregory. "Ok, sounds good. Should I be worried?" He asked with concern evident in his voice. "Well, not yet at least," I smiled at him, kissing his cheek.

At school, everyone talked about the rugby match from the day before. Girls loved it, and guys were excited about the new teams that were made for that match. They were happy they could play together with some strong players from the other pack.

We were listening about it through the whole lunch, and Adam was getting almost jealous that he wasn't there to play too. Finally, I said we should do it again next week, and everyone nodded approvingly. I was very pleased about my plan to connect both packs to work so well. I was still concerned with what to do with girls, but that was one of the things I would talk about with Adam later.

After school was finally over, we met at the lockers and walked together towards the tennis courts. "Did you bring me here to make out with me? Because if you did, I'm totally fine with that," he said, grinning widely at me when we stopped next to the wall.

"Haha, very funny. Not today, though," I said. "Ok, what is this about then?" he asked while leaning his back on the wall and crossing his arms.

"So, the first thing that concerns me is the talk I had with girls from your pack yesterday. They said they don't receive any training and none of them will take any important position in the pack after they finish school. They almost popped their eyes out when they heard Gina's and Lara's future plans," I tried to explain shortly. "Julianna, girls at my pack are just different. They are not as ambitious as they are in yours'," Adam said matter-of-factly.

"Well, if they don't know their possibilities and they aren't being trained, they just don't have any chance of becoming something," I argued, trying to get him to see it from my point of view.

"Well, in my pack, men take the hard jobs, while women don't have to worry about anything. Don't you see, we are just making it easy for them," he tried to explain his stance. "But in my pack, we are happy with taking some important place in our society. We grow up knowing we could do anything, and it gives us great satisfaction. I just hope one day women in your pack will be able to choose their path too."

"My pack is just different than yours, ok? Let's just leave it with that," he said, looking like he wasn't willing to discuss it any further at this point. I hoped he would at least consider what I was saying. I was going to leave it at that, but I remembered that I had one more thing from that conversation with girls I just had to ask him.
