As we arranged with everyone the previous day, I met with girls for lunch that day. We picked a table on the terrace outside, and it was a beautiful sunny day. There were about eight girls from Knight's Blood and ten from Dragon Claw, including me, Lara, and Gina.

Girls from the other pack were looking at me suspiciously after sat down with their lunches. I guess it was just because we never did this before and they didn't know me well, so I started by introducing myself: "Hi all! I'm Julianna; I believe you all know my name, at least. But it was pointed out to me that I hang out with guys too much, while I don't really know you, so I thought it's time we change that. I would like to know you better, so could I ask you for a short introduction? Maybe something simple like your name and your role in your pack?"

I looked at Gina beside me, indicating she should start. "Um, hi all, I'm Gina; I will be Julianna's third in command after I graduate from high school." When Gina said that, there were loud gasps heard from Knight's side of the table.

I didn't know what to think of it, so I let it go for now and urged Lara to continue. "Hi guys, most of you know me; I'm that one with a loudmouth, Lara. I am training as a tracker, and I am one of the best in our pack. I want to be a lead tracker someday." As she said that, the wide-eyed looks on the other pack's faces were clearly visible.

"Um, what's going on? Is something wrong?" I asked, directing my question to the surprised ones. There was a short silence before one of them spoke: "How can you be a lead tracker if you are a girl? Everyone knows guys are stronger, and those roles naturally go to them. The tall one before, she inherited the role, so probably they have no choice but to hand it over to her, but Lara, how can she compete with the guys?" Others all nodded at that.

It was obvious that things in their pack were much different than they were in ours. They all started chatting among themselves, but I interrupted them when I finally found my words: "Well, Gina was born into the role, that's true, but she is being trained every day, and I am sure she will be awesome when she takes over. She is smart and intelligent. It is true that males are normally stronger than females, but that doesn't mean she's weak. We also have many guards for protection. Strength is not the only quality third in command needs to excel."

I noticed they all listened intently, so I continued. "And about Lara: she really is one of the top trackers in our pack. She is fast, she is strong, and her senses are amazing. She is truly better than most of the guys. She also trains hard for it."

After that, there was silence. It was true, in my pack, girls were trained side by side with guys, and many of them had ambitions in leading roles in the pack. I was a girl too, and no one ever questioned my abilities. I was born into the role, but I was also being trained for it. It was like that in my pack since I could remember.

"How is it in your pack?" I asked, realizing they might have different habits. "We aren't trained, and we are not expected to take on any roles in the pack," a small black-haired girl said. "What do you do then? Please tell us your name," I said, wanting to know more.

She looked at others first, who were quietly staring at her. "I'm Kaitlyn. We go to school, we go for our run in the wolf form sometimes, and... that's mostly it. It is clear to us that guys will take over the positions, and we will stay home or do some administration work or something." Now it was my pack's turn to feel the shock.

"What do you think of me then?" I asked. There was a silence again for some time. I glared at them, trying to get an answer at all costs. When the silence got too uncomfortable, one of them finally spoke up.

"Umm, everybody thought your pack having a female Alpha was a big joke. Everyone was making fun of it until we found out you were Adam's mate. Now we just think he will take over both packs. We think you are lucky to be paired with him so your pack can stay strong." I was angry and offended beyond belief, and it must have shown in my face.

"Well, I need to disappoint you as I intend to fully lead my pack," I barked out. I was breathing fast and was fighting against my wolf for control. Gina, next to me, held my arm to calm me down. They all looked down now, and the uncomfortable silence came over our table again. The meeting was not going as I intended at all.

It was supposed to be fun and pleasant, but it turned out to be anything other than that. I forced myself to calm down. I knew they just didn't know any other way, and I was the one who had to be the one to show them.

"Ok, how about you girls come to my pack one day and see how it is with us. It's just a friendly visit, we won't force you to change anything you don't want, but I would just like you to see." They all relaxed at my words and nodded.

"We still don't know your names, girls, so go on, we don't have all day here," Lara spoke up to help the conversations going. The mood relaxed slowly, but everything they had said gave me much to think about.
