Even though I couldn't sleep well the night before, I woke up at five AM and went for my morning run. I was thinking about everything Gregory had said. If it was true that my father's old friends were going to betray us, we only had three allies, and that was including Gregory. So together with our two packs, that would be an alliance of five packs. I could only hope it would be enough. Everything was still very unsure at the moment, as we didn't know how many they had.

I also thought about Adam and how threatened he felt by Gregory. I hoped he knew how much he meant to me and that he didn't have to be jealous of anyone. We had a rough start because we were from different packs, but after we cleared some things up, I wouldn't change him for the world. So I was wondering how I could make him see that.

I was deep in my thoughts, so I didn't pay much attention to anything else, which I soon realized was a big mistake. Suddenly three unknown wolves appeared in front of me. I knew by their smell they weren't from our pack. I slowed down when I came closer to them, meaning to ask them what they wanted here. But as I came closer, I noticed more wolves surrounding me from all sides.

There were at least fifteen, and I knew immediately they were there to fight me, so there was no time to waste. Luckily I was already in my wolf form, so I didn't have to worry about changing.

I started charging towards the three I saw in the first place because they were the closest to me. I attacked the first one, going straight for the throat, killing him instantly. The other two jumped on me from both sides. I dodged, and they lost their balance, falling to the ground. I got to the second one, snapping his neck quickly with my strong jaw.

Just as I turned to the third one, I felt a net falling over me, pulling me down and restraining me. Right after that, I heard a shot and felt a sharp pain just next to my shoulder blade taking over me. The trees spun around me, and that was the last thing I saw before passing out.

When I woke up, it was all dark around me, and I had no idea where I was. It felt as if I had been asleep for a long time. I was trying to mind-link with my dad, but I couldn't do it, so I assumed I was taken outside my pack's territory. I tried to feel around me with my hands. On one side of the room was a rocky wall, and on the other side were metal bars.

I figured that someone had ambushed me and deliberately taken me away from my pack, locking me up in a cell. I could only assume it was someone from Henry's alliance, but I couldn't have known for certain. I hoped I could find out more if I spoke with someone there. I was starting to feel panicky, but I did my best to stay composed. I knew that I had a chance to find some way out of there only if I kept alert.

The next thing I did was examining myself. I was dressed in some loose clothes that weren't mine. I was in my wolf form when they captured me, and I must have shifted when I was unconscious. I remembered I was shot in my back, but I was already healing. Only one shot couldn't be enough to bring me down, so they must have used tranquilizer. Whoever it was, they were playing it dirty. I wondered how long I have been asleep. Probably it was nighttime now as it was so dark. When I touched the back of my head, I felt dried blood in my hair, but that wound was healing already as well.

Other than my head and my back, I felt unharmed. I decided to lie down and try to sleep some more to be in my full strength in the morning. I lay down on the hard bench by the wall and closed my eyes.

But unfortunately, that morning never came for me. No matter how long I waited, and I realized I was being kept in some sort of windowless room, possibly a basement.

While I was asleep, someone must have brought food and left it near the cell door. It was just a few slices of bread and a glass of milk, but anything would do at that moment as I was starving. After eating, I went to the side of my cell with bars and called:" Hey! Anyone here?" I was yelling and asking for anyone to come, but no one did. After some time, I gave up and decided to just wait for my next meal to arrive. Someone has to bring it, and that will be my chance to talk to my captors. There was no way for me to get out, and there was no one to fight, so I was left alone with my thoughts.
