"Feels so good to be back in our house, even though I really enjoyed our outing. Sleeping in our bed, using our own bathroom, getting ready. I missed it just a little."

I expressed my thoughts to Deen who was getting ready beside me and inhaled the smell of our bedroom as my perfume and his cologne mixed. Coming back to our house made me realize that this place was my home and I enjoyed sharing it with Deen more than ever.

"I know the feeling. This really is our home. Now and forever," Deen said. He slid into the mirror frame behind me and softly rubbed down my exposed arms. The kisses he delivered to my shoulder made me lightly giggle. "You okay with that?"

"What? Staying here forever? I prefer it that way. I finally feel comfortable and safe in a place. No drama."

I could feel Deen's smile on my skin before he relieved his body that was pressed against mine. "Get ready, babydoll. You're distracting me. Giving me a real Valentine's Day gift."

Even though today was Love-Day as Deen and I would call it, we refrained from plans because of how hectic our schedule was returning home. We planned to do something later during the week. We couldn't bear to stay away from chocolates, flowers, and intimate gifts for one day.

Before, Deen had planned to go visit Dean in his own free time when we returned to the city, but after talking, Deen didn't think it was too bad for me to tag along. I didn't mind and it gave me something to do instead of remaining inside all day. The city had been cursed with a cold spell so outside really wasn't that much better but we managed.

After slipping on my undergarments, stockings, and dress, I proceeded to do my makeup and remove the pins in my hair that were holding my curls. Deen and I finished getting ready along the same time as he was tying his boots up.

"You look like you're going on a date, that's how good you look. Should I be worried?" Deen spoke from behind me as we traveled out the front door.

"This is how I look every day, Deen," I groaned playfully, my voice flat.

"I know." He grabbed my waist, pulling me back to his walking pace. "I just like spoiling you with compliments. Slow down and watch out for the ice on the sidewalk."

It didn't take Deen and I long to get to Dean's place and I was honestly glad that Deen's cautious yelps about ice had come to an end. It had suddenly dawned on me the real reason that Deen and I came here and I began to get sweaty palms and warming cheeks as I recalled events from the house party. I hated having people upset at me and especially since it involved Deen. It made all matters worse.

Worriedly, I clutched Deen's hand just a bit tighter and waited for either Dean or Margaret to open the front door. Deen kissed my forehead and joked about the union that would occur with his best friend in a moment or two. Margaret ended up opening the door, to which she gave Deen a wide smile and a hug and a look of acknowledgment in my direction. I forced out a small 'hello' but that was all the effort I could do.
