I can't believe she's here, I thought to myself as I got dressed for the morning. Ever since I had left Paislee's pad last night I couldn't get her off her mind. The fact that she was practically under my nose for all of these years amazed me beyond words. Seeing her three years later brought nostalgic memories from when we were seventeen and playing cat-and-mouse games with each other.

I hadn't thought too much about the fact that Paislee and I dated years ago. When I saw her, all I could think about were the days where I dreamed about her and now it was finally coming alive.

And though I promised myself not to have any lustful thoughts when I first saw her, my eyes couldn't help but notice the changes. I couldn't help myself no matter how hard I stared solely at her face. Paislee was a woman now. Don't get me wrong, she looked amazing in high school, but now that she had grown into her body and her features, I felt like she was out of my league.

I shook my head at my reddened face and snapped out of my thoughts when the phone started ringing.

"Hello?"

"Hi Deen," I heard Paislee on the other side of the phone say.

"Hi, Paislee."

She giggled. "Uh, I was wondering if you were still coming over for breakfast today? We did agree on eight o'clock, right?"

I looked at the clock on my nightstand and realized it was a minute until eight. "Yes I'm definitely coming over but I thought you said eight-thirty. . ."

"Oh did I? Well, I'm sorry for calling. My memory can be out of wack sometimes, I'm sorry."

"Hey, it's okay," I said, hearing her sigh. "I'll be done getting ready in minutes and then I'll be right over, okay?"

"Yeah, that sounds good. Hey, do you prefer coffee or tea? And do you do like bacon or sausage in your omelets?"

"I like coffee and instead of bacon and sausage, I like the idea of you not cooking at all. You really don't have to do all of that Paislee."

"I know but it is breakfast time," Paislee said. "Just choose please."

"I guess sausage."

"Thank you. I see your just as stubborn, some things never change really. . . I'm glad they haven't."

Her soft voice trailed off and I couldn't contain the smile plastered on my lips no matter how hard I tried. It was something about her that could make me brighten up more than the sun. Not wanting to keep her waiting any longer, I reached for my cologne and sprayed it over my clothes before looking in my mirror. The tension of the phone cord was what pulled me back into me and Paislee's conversation.
