23# Guitar Lesson Rival. P2.

Jim Root X Reader X Mick Thomson.

Summary: Jim and Mick are fighting on who gets to teach (Y/n) guitar.

For the past several weeks, (Y/n) is practicing by themselves. at least 30 minutes a day. If they keep it going like this. They could play fluently by the end of the year! And that excites (Y/n). 
They have always wanted to play the guitar, it's the coolest instrument out there! Watching all their rock idols back when they were young. 
Sadly (Y/n) grew up in a family with financial struggles, struggles? Well... Father valued gambling more than college...
But now, as an adult, (Y/n) can finally practice their dream hobby! They didn't have to burrow an acoustic guitar from Jim anymore, for they have bought their own recently. With the advice from both Mick and Jim, they helped (Y/n) pick out a decent starter guitar. 

The two guitarists of Slipknot are at each others necks when it comes to teaching (Y/n) an instrument that they both play.  
Both of them want to teach (Y/n) play. And both of them don't want the other to teach them. 
Yet the guitarists agreed that it would be handy for (Y/n) to learn from more than one teacher, that way (Y/n) can develop their own style of playing. So they'll have to suck it up.
Jim and Mick look forward to giving (Y/n) lessons. To teach them guitar, and to spend more one on one time with them too. 
The two men both hoped to get to spend more time time with (Y/n). At least before another tour comes up.

It's Jim's turn to teach. And he can't feel more excited than he already is. Excitement and nervousness is what he feels. 
He's waiting for (Y/n) to arrive at his house where they agreed to meet up for the lesson. 
And they're late. Jim strums a few chords on his guitar, the vibration and the noise of the instrument calms his nerves. 
but yet, he can't help but worry and overthink things. 
What if something happened to them? Maybe they're stuck in a traffic jam? Did they get hurt? What if (Y/n) didn't want lessons from him anymore? 

The thought scares him, and he roughly shakes his head to get rid of that thought that keeps returning. Stop it!
No, (Y/n) was over the moon when Jim suggested to give them lessons. That twinkle of nothing but pure joy in their as he handed them a guitar to get a feel of it. 
Just to keep himself from panicking, Jim just assumes with scenario two, they're stuck in traffic and are coming late. It's only the most logical option to be. 

The sudden noise of the doorbell ringing makes the guitarist jump. That must be (Y/n) at his door, they must be. 
Jim sets his guitar aside and rushes, nearly sprints over to the front door to greet (Y/n).
He skips to a halt, almost crashing into the door. Like a puppy dog awaiting it's owner to return from work. Jim feels the nervousness melt away, completely replaces with excitement. 
He fumbles with the door, opening it up to reveal (Y/n) right there. 

(Y/n) offers a nervous grin, "Hey, sorry i'm late traff-""(Y/n)!" Jim cuts them off, he lunges forward catching (Y/n) off guard with a firm hug. 
"whoa geez Peach. Missed me?" (Y/n)'s voice is muffled into his shoulder. 
Jim doesn't respond, merely squeezing them tight to himself. He was so worried before, he had no reason to be. Yet, his uncertainty got the better of him. He doesn't care about the reason why they're so late anymore. He is just glad that (Y/n) has shown up.

Suddenly, the guitarist realizes the situation and let's go of his friend. He coughs, turning a little pink in the face. 
"let-let's get inside." He stammers, wrapping an arm over (Y/n)'s shoulders and guiding them inside, closing the door behind the two.

Jim is inspecting (Y/n) brand new acoustic guitar. It's a very nice one at that. The perfect beginner guitar. 
He can't help but think how nice (Y/n) hands look while they're playing the new chords they have learned over the past month.
