It had been a week since Nagito had said yes to Hajime's invitation to the dance, which meant there was only one week until the dance, and Hajime couldn't be more excited. He was actually going on an official date with Nagito! They would go dancing together and- Hajime mentally slapped himself. No, he couldn't get his hopes up. It was just a date. Nothing more. They weren't even dating. It was just a fun get-together they were calling a date, that was all. But some of Hajime knew that it was more than that, to both himself and to Nagito.

But Hajime didn't dwell on that for too long. It was a Saturday morning, and Hajime was bored, so he wanted to go talk to Nagito. Nagito always had something interesting to talk about. Heck, maybe if Hajime was nice, Nagito would take him for another fly. Hajime was sure he could handle it.

So Hajime flew down the stairs to Nagito's room and knocked on the bird kid's door. He got no response so he figured Nagito was sleeping. That was odd. Nagito didn't sleep in often. He was almost always up before Hajime and Jane. Hajime hoped he wasn't sick.

Hajime quietly creaked open the door to see quite a sight. Nagito was not asleep. He was fully dressed, minus his jacket so Hajime could see his wings. Nagito was also pacing around the room and appeared to be deep in thought. He was so deep in his own mind that he hadn't noticed Hajime walk into his room.

Hajime cleared his throat to get Nagito's attention. That startled Nagito, and he looked up from his pacing. "Oh," he sighed. "Hello there Hajime."

"Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to have breakfast and maybe go for a fly-"

"No time," Nagito interrupted. "I appreciate you for being concerned about my hunger, and going flying does sound like fun, but I'm afraid I can't at the moment. I'm busy." Then he resumed his pacing. Hajime could not have given Nagito a more I'm so freaking confused look.

"Busy doing what?!"

"Thinking." Well, Nagito did look lost in thought. Hajime thought it was best to not disturb him. So Hajime sat on Nagito's bed while Nagito continued mumbling to himself in another language, probably Russian by the sound of it. Nagito most likely didn't want Hajime to know what he was thinking about. But that just piqued Hajime's curiosity even more. Hajime tried to keep to himself as Nagito grew more and more worried, giving the occasional sighs of frustration. That settled it. Hajime HAD to know what was bugging his feathered friend.

"What are you thinking about?"

"..." At first it seemed Nagito didn't want to answer. He thought for a second before sighing and said, "I'm thinking about the School."

"Why would you want to voluntarily think about that place?!"

"Because."

"Because why? Do you want to start practicing telekinesis?" Hajime still hadn't given up on the hope that Nagito would practice telekinesis. But that question just earned Hajime a hard glare from Nagito. "I believe I specifically stated I don't want to practice my telekinesis," he said coldly. Hajime nodded. "Right, yeah, no telekinesis. But if you aren't thinking about that, what about the School are you thinking of?"

Nagito looked like he didn't know where to start, so he just plopped down next to Hajime and said, "Well, I've been having this reoccurring dream lately. It's a memory from my... Er... childhood. The dream is of my twelve-year-old self being dragged down a hallway by guards, and I always pass a sign that says Ivex."

"Ivex? What does that mean?" Hajime was sure he had heard the word Ivex somewhere before, but he didn't know where.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out!" Nagito shouted, throwing his hands in the air. "I have the dream night after night, always passing that sign. It's like my mind is trying to tell me something, but I don't know what!" Nagito gave a huge groan and buried his face in his hands. Hajime gave Nagito a reassuring pat on the back. "Hey, I know a way we can figure out what Ivex means."
