a year passed since the reveal of her father being iron man. she still hadn't told him about her thoughts, more so she didn't know how.

tony had become more closed off than usual which not only terrified elizabeth but confused her. tony and her have been joined at the hip since her birth, only being separated when he had meetings, went in public, and was kidnapped for those few months.

she wasn't the only one to notice her father's actions. pepper, rhodey, and happy picked up on it almost immediately.

of course, this didn't help the poor girl's mental health. all mirrors in her room were now covered, and frankly, it was better than her other idea; punch the mirrors.

she now wore more excessive baggy clothing, and when she showered, she never looked at herself. she'd do it eyes closed, and if she didn't do it, she'd have pepper bathe her which didn't help but it was better than the alternative of doing it herself.

this way, when pepper would help, she could space out, pretend she was somewhere else in a body that matched her brain and heart. by the time elizabeth would be knocked out of her thoughts, she was dressed and on her bed. she had unknowingly been on autopilot the whole time.

she didn't have to think about her disgusting body, and as much as she hates touching it when it came to cleaning, she pushed through.

pepper pitied the young girl, who looked to be slowly deteriorating in front of them. and she grew mad when tony seemed to ignore it.

elizabeth didn't mean to stop taking care of herself... she just doesn't have the energy to bother.

the girl even despised going to school, which was the one thing that distracted her scary full mind. she suddenly stopped enjoying everything.

until she met him. he was relentless. always said 'hi', asked how she was doing, and even though she never replied, he'd continue talking to her.

she hated to admit it, but she loved it. she wasn't one to talk, but sitting there and listening to this boy run his mouth calmed her aching brain.

she met her father's new assistant, considering pepper had become ceo of stark industries.

natalie rushman. she was... different in elizabeth's eyes. it was almost as if natalie had her all figured out. and she did.
