The first time Sunghoon met and interacted with Jake would have to be back in his elementary school days. They both were only 8 years old when Sunghoon began to get bullied for his "funny-looking eyes." Young kids don't hold back on their opinions, was his main lesson from this bullying. He learned this at a young age.

"Why does one of your eyes not look at me when I'm talking to you? You're weird," His classmate said to him one day. He knew nothing more than to cry and run away, everybody would remind him every day about his eyes and how funny they looked. Sunghoon hated himself for it, even though he was this young. These mean comments made him self-conscious and he already began to get nervous to go out to school because of this.

But one day on his way home from a day full of mean remarks, Jake was there at the park. Sunghoon gained a habit of coming to the park whenever he needed to calm down, it was good to sit there and think about all of his thoughts and feelings alone. He was always by himself at the park when he did this though so it was a little odd to see another person there.

"What are you doing here?" Sunghoon asked harshly, tear stains were very clear underneath his eyes. At first, he was more than irritated that he couldn't have this little space for himself in silence, especially since the male tried to approach him multiple times. "I'm Jaeyun! Would you like to be friends?" The taller male asked. This Jaeyun boy was slightly taller than Sunghoon and always wore the same smile, always.

"I didn't ask dude, I just want to be alone" And just like that, their first interaction ever was over. But Sunghoon found himself pondering why Jake crossed his mind the next morning and throughout the day. He thought Jaeyun was irritating but part of him hoped the male would be at the park after school.

He excitedly ran towards the trees where he saw Jake last and sure enough, the black-haired male was there with a ball in his arms. "Oh hello! It's you again, are you alright?" Jaeyun asked and stood up from his spot, moving closer to examine Sunghoon's face. The younger was crying earlier in the day and his swollen eyes showed it, not to mention his slightly runny nose. He didn't say anything though and went to sit beside the tree, Jaeyun joining him.

"My name is Sunghoon," The smaller male finally said after a few minutes. It caught Jaeyun off guard but he smiled at him, placing the ball on Sunghoon's lap. "Well then Sunghoon, let's go and play! I'm sure you'll feel better after," He grabbed onto the pale boy's hand and pulled him into the open grass area, signaling him to throw the blue ball to him. Sunghoon threw it to him and the ball was quick to come straight back to him, he felt a smile spreading across his face.

The next day Jaeyun brought Sunghoon to the ice cream shop, insisting that they treated themselves to something sweet. Though the male was a little shy to order so Sunghoon went to order for the both of them, coming back with two cones in his hands. One was chocolate and the other was mint chocolate (I honestly don't remember if Sunghoon likes mint choco but we'll just pretend for now ✋ - MINA) as Jaeyun was a little hesitant to try anything else.

"Come on Jaeyun, try it!" Sunghoon held out his cone to the boy sitting beside them. They were back in the park now, sitting on the bench underneath the tree they first saw each other. The other was still hesitant but he took a little lick of the mint chocolate ice cream and his face immediately scrunched up, face in disgust. "EW, you like that?!" He yelled, spitting out whatever he didn't swallow into the trash can beside him. Sunghoon was laughing, trying his best to not spill his ice cream everywhere.

"It's not that bad Jaeyun, you're just overreacting. It's delicious" The younger boy went to enjoy his ice cream to show Jaeyun but he wasn't having it and pushed himself a little farther away. "Keep that away from me, I'll just eat my chocolate ice cream," Jaeyun stuck his tongue out and went to bite at the cone. They spent a few minutes in complete silence to eat their ice cream, it was beginning to melt faster once they were outside so they wanted to make sure they didn't get all sticky.

"So what's wrong? You always look like you were crying before you come to the park," Jaeyun finally questioned, taking the rest of the cone into his mouth to finish. Sunghoon bit his lower lip before clearing his throat to speak. "I'm getting made fun of— because of my eyes. I have a lazy eye that everyone makes fun of, I've been getting really bad comments recently" He looked like he wanted to cry again, using his hand to clear them away before they could fall down his cheeks.

Jaeyun didn't question anymore and went to comfort his new friend, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. "You look just fine Sunghoon, just ignore their comments. It makes you special if anything," Jaeyun smiled at him, pointing at Sunghoon. "You're really strong for taking all of those remarks, I'm sure you'll be just fine" He finished.

Sunghoon ignored everyone after what Jaeyun said and went to be silent all day, not uttering a single word. Not even sparing a single glance to anyone other than the teacher. He found that his classmates began to forget about him and went to focus on greater things, he was happy. Those who bullied him laid off and didn't even look at him. Sunghoon was even able to become friends with Jay, a boy who moved to Korea from America recently.

Jay didn't know about his eyes and how he got made fun of, so becoming friends was a breeze. "Want to go to the arcade after school today, Hoon?" The boy sitting behind him asked as they settled down after recess, throwing his milk bottle into the trash. Sunghoon smiled and turned around in his seat, resting his chin on his palm. Every day these two got closer and closer that Sunghoon didn't even realize, he completely forgot Jaeyun. He forgot about the male who helped him get over the bullying, he forgot about the boy who cheered him up a few times after a rough day.

"Yes, it's going to be really fun,"
