Every step Sunghoon made towards Jake's house felt heavy and it felt odd to do so with the fact that they'd be going on a date in mind. He had gone to Jake's house many times before but this felt different. He cleared his throat and pulled down on his jacket, fixing up his hair as well. "I shouldn't be this nervous," Sunghoon knew that he was probably just a nervous as Jake was but it felt weird. But still, he was overjoyed.

Knocking on the front door made him even more nervous, playing with the zipper on his jacket. Every second that passed felt like he was a second closer to exploding, his heart truly was going crazy. But if he thought that his heart was going crazy then, imagine how quickly his heart was beating to see Jake open up the door with a smile on his face. His cheeks were also dusted with a light pink but he looked as excited as ever, stepping out of the front door.

"Hi Hoon," Jake greeted, looking down at his outfit for a few seconds. Sunghoon was wearing a white shirt, a light green jacket, and black jeans. He looked amazing, like always. "Hi, Jake~ I like your outfit" Jake was wearing a white shirt, black denim jacket, and black jeans. Sunghoon was in awe as Jake hopped down the steps towards him. "We're going to that outdoor mall right?" Sunghoon nodded and took Jake's hang into his. "Mhm, let's go!"

"Tada! Look at me!" Jake came out of the fitting room with a tan hoodie on, smiling widely at the male who had already changed into an identical one. "It looks good on you Jake," Sunghoon stood up from the stool outside of the booths, looking down at his own outfit before looking at Jake. "You look good too," Jake stood next to Sunghoon in the mirror, admiring how they looked in the matching hoodies.

"I'm going to wear it the rest of the day, it's really comfy" Jake stated, pulling down on the hem and the sleeves to show it was just a little big. "I will too. How about we get something to eat then?" The mall was busy with families and teens their age wandering about, enjoying their weekends together. Jake didn't really like being in crowded places but being with Sunghoon made him feel really comfortable. He was really enjoying their time together.

"Can we eat... barbecue!" Jake pointed towards the place just around the corner from the shop they exited. It looked fairly empty despite the number of people that walked around and when looking at the other restaurants nearby, it seemed that would be a good idea. "Mmm, sounds good. Let's go!" Sunghoon grabbed onto Jake's hand again, keeping the smaller male as close as possible.

"Oh that's right, there's something that I want to show you when we leave the mall. Hopefully, we'll catch it in time," The older nodded with his hand in his hair, pushing it away from his eyes. "Ooh, I'm excited! Are we going somewhere fun?" Sunghoon hummed, looking down at their hands. "I hope it's fun, I think you'll enjoy it,"

The two walked into the barbecue place with slow steps, peering towards the front counter at the middle-aged lady who smiled at them. "There are open seats at the back over there," She pointed at the two vacant tables, the two bowing at her as they continued down to one of the tables. Though it was quite a cold day, the moment they walked in made them feel even cooler. It sent shivers down Jake's spine, crossing his arms over each other.

"I'm not too hungry, to be honest, but this all looks really good," Jake almost drooled while looking at all the various foods on the menu, even looking at the other tables and at the foods the others ordered. "Do you like sweets?" The younger asked, putting down the menu to look at the other. "Mhm, love sweets" Tapping his finger on the table he pointed outside of the barbecue place. "There's this sweet shop further down, maybe we can go there later if you'd like?" Jake's eyes brightened as he nodded excitedly. "Yes, we must go!"

With a donut in one hand and Sunghoon's hand in his other, Jake looked at all of the stuffed animals with a little grin. "This one reminds me of you," Jake laughed as he pointed at all of the taller ones and even a penguin that did in fact, remind him a lot of the younger. "You think Layla would get jealous if you show up with this doggy?" Sunghoon asked and reached down to grab a small brown dog, pulling it up to his face.

"Awe it's adorable~ I wanna get it," Jake grabbed it from Sunghoon's hand and pat its head, giving his donut to Sunghoon. "Can I have some?" The younger's donut was already gone and the latter's looked really good as well, using his eyes to signal to it. "Sure, just not all of it, please? I want some too," Jake pouted a little bit before grabbing onto a little penguin, booping its beak with a small giggle.

After paying for the items they found cute in the store, they sat on a bench outside of the mall. Staring towards the crowds of people walking past at a distance. "I wan'" Jake opened his mouth and pointed towards the donut that had a bit already, Sunghoon smiled cheekily at him. His cheeks were bulging a little on one side, he just took a bite. "Ah," Sunghoon mimicked before putting the donut in front of Jake, allowing him to take a bite. "Mmm, it's really good,"

Sunghoon looked down at his phone and at the time. Peering up at the sky as well. "I want to get to this place before sunset, you wanna sit here for a bit and go?" Jake leaned his head against Sunghoon's shoulder and nodded. Opening his mouth again, Sunghoon let Jake take another little bite before taking one as well. "Where are we going?" Jake asked, placing the little doggy on his lap.

"It's a secret~"

happy 4th of july!!

today's update was really late but it was more of a filler. it feels just a little rushed but we plan to detail the next part more :) hope you liked it <3
